Anybody interested in an '80 parts car?

Well, despite selling my SE, it seems I still can't get RX7's out of my system. Tomorrow morning I'll be going to pick up two more first-gens. An '80 and an '82 GSL. We're holding onto the '82 but I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in the '80 as a parts beast. I haven't pulled the storage bins to see if there's rust, but if the rest of the body is any indication, it should be solid. Front passenger fender is crunched along the top, but not enough to interfere with anything. Interior seems complete. Has the factory Clarion tape deck. Factory web-style alloy wheels. Engine is seized, but I think I'm going to want to hold onto it for my first foray into the inner-workings of the rotary. Car has a 5-speed tranny, which may or may not go with the car, I haven't decided yet. One bad thing, car has no title, so it'd have to be either a parts car or else turned into a race-only machine. Basically, you'd be buying a complete car, minus the engine and possibly the tranny and radiator and oil cooler. Anyone interested?

Oh yea.. guess location might help.. Claysburg Pennsylvania.. 100 miles east of Pittsburgh, 100 miles west of Harrisburg, and about 30 miles north of the PA turnpike.. price, make me an offer.. I doubt it'd insult me. LOL I don't have the car home yet, the above description was done on the lot where the car is located, so it may not be 100% accurate. I'll give some more details tomorrow afternoon after I get it home.

exhaust

Does it have the original (thermal reactor system) exhaust?

If so, I would be interested in the connecting pipe between the reactor and the heat exchanger.

If your interested in parting it at your house I'd be interested in a few things, like the radiator and oil cooler. Maybe some other stuff. I'd love to take the car but just bought an 83 limited parts/resto giving me a grand total of 3 cars (not bad for a 17 yr old) but my parents are starting to get annoyed claiming our yard is turning into a used car lot. Ha oh well. Let us know if you'll part it. Later

leadguy, 79 was the only year of the reactor.

82transam, i think he said he'd be keeping the radiator and oil cooler.

i would be interested in interior small parts if you decide to part it instead of sell it.

Nah, the 80's got stuck with that crap too. Didn't go away until 81. Best 100 lbs. that I ever lost. If you aren't in an emissions controlled state, throw it in the gutter and don't buy another.

Whenever ya feel like it! I am supposed to be off on Saturday, and Joe and I are gonna try to finish his engine swap off, as I haven't heard anything from the Indy swap. If you don't wanna come up til Sunday morning, you would just need to be there by 9am. You could get there as early as 8, but tech and registration don't close until 10. If you need directions, just call me on my cell (836-2307) and I can get you to the right place. I should be easy enough to find at the event. All three functional 7's will be participating, with my wife driving the '86, Joe in the '88, and me in the '80. Hopefully, they will all return home under their own power.

Later,
James
