Question Genuine italian leather shifter and ebrake boots

Hi guys,

I'm wondering how many of you would be interested in such an item. I have been producing shifter and leather boots for the 300ZX for over a year now so I have a lot of experience in the matter.

I'm trying to get boots for other cars also and I've picked the RX7 above the whole rest, because it's my 2nd favorite sportscar (after the Z of course)... Plus it has both shifter and ebrake boots.

I'm in the process of getting leather boots done for the 2nd gen RX7. I'd like to get boots for the 3rd gen also.

Would this interest anybody? Please let me know.

If you want to check out my boots for the Z, please check my website:

Have a great day!

Hey all,

thanks a lot for your input. I'm already halfway there to have this product on offer and I'll be taking orders shortly. I'll make sure they're VERY affordable.

For the 3rd gen I should be taking orders within two weeks from now.

For the 2nd gen, later year models, I'll be ready a bit later.

I have yet to receive boots from a 2nd gen early year model as a template. I can't find any of these cars where I live. Anybody want to strike a deal - your old boots for a leather replacement?

I don't plan on doing boot for the 1st gen RX7s now because to the best of my knowledge these cars had a rubber boot originally.

But, if I find somebody to cooperate with me on this, I'll be more than happy to make them also.

That's it for today, but I'm moving quickly and should have a website up soon.

Yes they do have a rubber boot, which is why I'm so interested in a leather one, lol.
I'm fairly sure it's very close to the 2nd gen boots, so if you make those, I'd be willing to buy one and see if it'll fit.

Hey Spence,

you're on! If it needs modifications and you can figure these modifications out, I'll send you a modified boot free of extra charge.

I'm going to have 2nd gen later year model boots soon.

i know that the first series (79-80) have a vinal shift boot, not the ugly rubber ones. that would still be nice , though, to replace with leather. but allas, i am unavailable until january (out of the country.. my seven is so lonely), otherwise i could send you one as a template.

I had completely forgotten about the Series 1 yinyl boots. Anyways, I'm not sure they're 100% the same as the Series 2/3 Rubber ones, so they might need alteration anyways.

I might be interested in the boot, depending on price. I agree, black with red stitching would look great with my grey/black interior and red ext. Let me know prices or an estimtate and I will see..

I am interested in both the shifter boot and the ebrake boot. Mine has a tear in it and I did not realize you were making both. Cool

The 3rd Gen boot is stapled to a plastic 'ring', if you like I have a spare boot and ring which you could use as a tester.I would be very interested in a black boot with red stitching (I was actually about to go ahead and make my own), but I'm awful at sewing.

quick question. . .do your shifter boots take into consideration that there is a difference in the hole pattern where the boot attaches underneath the plastic surround? I know they're different because I've tried reusing an 87 boot on an 89+ surround. The holes weren't even close. IF these boots will work with no problems on the 89+, then I'll DEFINITELY order a black one for my 88 10th AE.
