how to get 270hp out of an S5 n/a?
how to get 270hp out of an S5 n/a?
as the question in the subject matter states.
rack your rotary brains to produce a formula, prescription, list to get the result of 270hp out of an S5 n/a.
limits: no turbo, sc, or nos. nothing above streetporting
alright..................go.............
( I know it's reaching, but.......any proven dyno results would also be appreciated)

c'mon yall, let's not all be ignorant (aka ignant). smile.
got the jokes haha. c'mon guys be a little more optimistic, and not even necessarily all the 270 fwhp, but just as close a formula you can put together to get there.
projekt- read the above "No NOS option!"
take this as a problemsolving challenge:
start with a 1990 n/a S5 = 160fwhp/ 140 tq.
add a little pineapple 6port sleeves,
w/ a smiggen of apex cone air filter,
a bored out throttle body,
extrude honed intake manifold,
streetported (portmatched to intake manifold) motor,
underdrive pullies,
electric fan,
header into 2 1/2" exhaust,
complete w/ your very own standalone computer (wolf).
(seriously) anything else to put in/ add to the mix to get to as close 270fwhp we can get????????
( yes, I do realize it's reaching and yes, it is an expensive setup, but help me out w/ the goal/project)

you might have to look into a different kinda intake setup if you want anwhere near that kinda power...
why so against power adders?... money willing at some point in the future im prolly gonna supercharge mine.... that way i can have more power yet still retain as much of the n/a feel as possible

Well I have show you guys the post from that peri ported engine that was doing 270 bhp I think it was 272 but that was with some tunning. I don't think you can get much out of a SP past 200 at the wheels.
Hopefully someone proves this wrong so we can follow suit and have some nice N/a's.

don't dare say the S-word around here (supra), for you to even suggest that some may begin to call you the sellout-weapon. As far as your pp suggestion, read the beginning post again, specifically, what part of nothing beyond a streetport didn't you understand???

as far as why no poweradders, reason is simple it's not my goal. I've got a TII, and a soon to be TII REPU (rotary pickuptruck), so I've got my boosted whirlie wonders. Now is the time to tinker w/ an n/a roadster monster. By the way this configuration is going to have it's home in the belly of an 85 gslse.
I've also thought about going w/ TII intermediate housings for a chance at a little more hp. I've also thought about ignition, I know I would have the stand alone computer doing fuel and engine management but I think a Jacobs ignition rotary propak or msd or crane might help some hp #'s also.
anyone else w/ some serious suggestions or input, it's appreciated!

I was wondering how much of a difference would Renesis rotors make in this setup. They are a slightly high compression (10:1 compared to 9.7:1), plus they are lighter than S5 rotors. It's a small difference, but couldn't this add a bit more power (i'm not saying it could get you to 270bhp).
I also wonder why we haven't seen high compression rotors from Mazda? Is there something in the rotor design that doesn't lend itself to making higher compression useful?
But getting back to your initial question, a Renesis swap with your mods will get you 270bhp.

hahaha, some ideads:
I saw this idea somewhere else I forget where but you might be able to use your AC to cool your intake temperatures to add some HPs. I think there is some production car that does it out there so it isn't all that crazy
Go talk to that tesla guy from the long dead post now revived
this isn't for power but to get lots better handling you can put a huge vacuum under your car to create ridiculous downforce on the top to hold it to the road I think they used to do this in F1 or some **** till they outlawed it
