redline = warning lights? WTF?

I noticed the other day that when I approach redline my my coolant, oil pressure, parking brake, and fuel warning lights come on. They start coming on around 7700 RPM or so; then they all shut off when I let the RPMs drop back down.

Whats going on? I'm sure my coolant level, oil, and gas levels are all good, and my parking brake was definatly off.

Thanks for any help.

I've seen all the warning lights come on when the alt belt broke. Maybe yours is slipping a lot?

Are you sure about those lights?
Page Z-24 of the wiring diagram shows that the alternator has a thing called a "diagnostic regulator".
I'm not sure what it does, but it looks like it has the capability to ground (through a transistor switch) inter-diagram point #6 which leads to page C-1a. On that page it shows that a ground signal will turn on the over heat exh system light, the charge light, the coolant light, and the oil level light (the light in the gauge is oil level).
Could that be what you saw?

The brake light can come on if your brake fluid level is low, but I agree with the idea that it's really the alternator that's causing it, like the belt slipping, as Jeff said.
