The representative at Mazda Motorsports told me that if i want to find a LSD for my car, Miata has a better one stock (torsen) and can fit perfect on FC non-turbo. Can anyone confirm this?

If this is true, i will try to find one in the junkyard, but is wandering whether anyone heard about this.

The Torsen equiped Miata's were pretty rare, you are looking for 94+ manual trans. cars that are either M edition models, some years PEP packages, or the racing models R package.

Now as far as them fitting... I don't know, but if anyone can find one and try it, please post!

Is there any "normal" LSD not "Torsen" LSD avaliable for Miata? If so, do they fit RX7 FC?

 

90-93 used a viscous diff.
94 - present use the torsional diff.
Just anything but a completely base model Miata has a limited slip diff.

the 93 and early miata's have a different diff it wont swap into anything except the 323 gtx. the 94-01 miata diff is the same design as the 84-92 na rx-7's. the only real difference is that the fc has a really long pinion gear, the gears would interchage otherwise.

84-92 NA 's LSD a torsen kind as the miata? representative in Mazda Motorsport told me that the one on the miata is better that used gear and clutch, where FC one is like a torque converter, uses liquid.

 

Yes, if you can get Torsen it is the best (but prove to be fragile w/ 400+hp) since Torsen transfers more power to the tire w/ most grip through its internal gears as opposed to viscous and clutch type limited slip which simply lock the diff. and distribute power evenly (though these are nice and predictable).

 

I use a Torsen in my Rx7 from Guru Motorsports here in Australia, it is sh__ hot!! Not made out of Cr__ material like most I have seen from other manufactures!

No I don't work for them, but I use there products in my car, sorry to rave about just the difference they have made to my times and performance have been outstanding!

I will shut up about them then. And I have not just spoken about diffs! Also dogboxes, but that won't help because I also use one of those from them!
