What is the best way to get proficient on using a Power FC+Commander & Datalogit?

I have a new Power FC, Commander and a Datalogit in mail to me.

I am getting a street ported motor from Pineapple and I've read that to properly run a ported motor with all the BPU's, I will need bigger injectors and a reprogrammable ECU...

My current mods are: M2 Stage III ECU . Custom Cold air intakes w/ K&N's . M2 Large/Race Stock Mount Intercooler . 3" SS Downpipe . N-tech Hi-flow cat . HKS Exhaust . Non-Sequential Stock Turbos @ 13 PSI . Home Depot Boost Controller . HKS Twin Power Ingition Amp . M2 Coil Overs . Tokiko 5 Way Adj. Struts . Pettit Front Sway Bar . Tri Point Rear Sway Bar . 18" AB-Flug Wheels . B&M Short Shifter . Home Depot Torque Brace . Supra TT Fuel Pump . Autometer Boost Guage . Hawker Odessey PC 980 Mini Battery . Home Depot Grounding Straps . Petit AST . Lightened Flywheel . '99 spec Lip . HID Conversion kit .

I know NOTHING about tuning/using the Power FC. I guess I've been spoiled by the "idiot-proof" rechipped M2 Stage 3 ECU. My old motor is still in the car and is pulling strong, it just has a massive front cover leak and probable coolant seal failure. I'd like to install and "practice" with my new Power FC on this motor before the Pineapple motor gets here.

My Question is: How do I get started? Where can I find a good solid write up on Power FC tuning for dummies?
I've done loots of searching and it gives good specific info on topics. I need to understand the basics(i.e. Timing, duty cycles, yada yada yada..)

Can you guys please help a botha' out?

Thanks,

John

BTW, I do plan to get it tuned on a dyno. I just don't know of any place in the SF Bay Area that does this. I'd also like to know what they are doing...

We looked all over for a tuner here in the Bay Area. Even Shiv of Vishnu Tuning turned us down. Finally, found Dave of OSDesign. He will be tuning several of our cars on June 9th. PM me if you want more info.

Read the older post on this forum from 2000 - 2002.
Those were the real learning years. These later post are mainly newbies asking the same old questions.
Most old timers have left due to boredom and lack of newbies contributing anything new or others "KEEPING" knowledge to themselves. If you go to the datalogit yahoo group, there aren't that much shared maps there. Nothing much new in the last year.

Then study the PFC manual, and DATALOGIT manual.

Then go out and play like the rest of us did.

We (2000, 2001, 2002) PFC/DATALOGIT owners had to teach ourselfs. Also go read timing post on the single turbo forum.
