drowned my car in in oil and water
I never let my airfilter dry before saturating it with the K&N oil (the directions didnt say and it was cold out so...logic was overiden). Well I drove the car a few times and now its runnig like crap, all the sudden like, liek its got poor gas in it or something. I run 93-94 octane so...I took out the filter, which, BTW, glistens with the ouil and I can see traces that dripped it, My hypothosis is that it eventually made it back to the engine with the water and asperated it.
I am getting some powerfoam (amsoil) soon. to cleane with any input or advice

If the filter was still wet, the oil won't run into the pores of the filter media well, negating the effect of the oil in the first place.
You will want to remove the filter, and check the intake for excessive oil in the intake system which can clog up your AFM and prevent it from moving correctly.

anyone else, thanks ICEMARk, dude, I see you all over the place here, thanks.
you think that amsoil foam is the best product to use for cleaning the whole intake system including spraying it into the upper intake manifold?
thank

Yeah, I would use it even before I would use ATF in a motor.
But for the AFM on a S4 you could probably also use some spray in brake cleaner

were do you get amsoil at, maybe that will help clean my motor out since it has the poops anyways. (meaning the oil that comes out the tail pipe) Also do you think a HKS power flow air filter is beter than a K&N filter charger kit.

well. I broke down entire intake from air box to upper intake manifold and scrubed down with brake cleaner and water and air dried, AFM the whole deal. them I stared the car, had to plug the afm in first ,and ran it at 2000 and the car smoked, as expected, then O drove it and it was clear again. the problem still persists though.
BUT.
I could pull the spark to any plug (only tried one at a time) and the car didnt run any different.
Maybe its the timing? can timing just go all the sudden when driving.
again...starts, idles at 750, little power through the rpms,, have compression and 3 humps on the gauge as well. cleaned intake, checked vacume pretty good I thought and I had spsrks going to all plugs. if it were a piston engine Id say it was timing or ...I dunno...
OH YEAH...and my boost guage, VDO, is bouncing in place, like I have a leak some where..
HELP

it is possible that the oil from the filter has found its way into the afm. and oil is an electrolite so it may be giving you ecu bad signals, which would explain the "flodding".
