How loud is your FC?

I recently changed my factory exhaust to a Racing Beat header / presilencer and some catback aftermarket set of mufflers I got a deal on at the junk yard. And now my 87 NA is loud! I mean it sounds like an airplane when it is idling. Driving down the road is just like flying along in a prop plane (if anyone here is a pilot you know the sound). For all I know it shoots flames too.

How loud is your exhaust and what do you consider to be too loud? I may put a highflow cat on each segment of the Y pipe before the mufflers to quiet it down and keep it from scorching anything.

With out silencers in it I wore ear plugs on a four hour drive. It is loud as hell when you get on it.

Yeah NA's are like that (hugs his turbo ). Right now its real quiet... blown motor (kicks his turbo ). But Im going to be installing a 3in turbo back racing beat exhaust, should be pretty loud.

'88 n/a Bonez hi flo cat with standard catback. It has a nice rumble sound, but I don't like the drone at highway speeds.

What is too loud?

I think there should be some "HP-to-dB" ratio scale to determine this. You see, a 108 db exhaust on a 250 rwhp TII may indeed be way too loud, but a 108 db on a 550 rwhp TII is definitely bearable

Mine is freakin' LOUD. The tool who owned the car before me put on two OBX mufflers (not even catback, just mufflers) that are BASICALLY straight through, and now it's got no cats, 2.5" exhaust.. LOUD

I have Racing Beat headers, presilencer, and the Corksport catback. Inside the car I register between 70-110db. Outside I hit 120 if the meter is right next to the car. A pedestrian would get about 110db if I'm driving around. sorta like this...http://zeffy.novus-logic.com/media/fc%20loud.wmv

2.5" Bonez Race pipe, RP catback. It's slightly louder than stock at idle(nice rumble) but once it gets past 3k it's really loud but seems to quiet down as long as I don't acclerate. How much is a dB meter? I want to measure mine and compare it with other setup.

Hey barwick, how does the exhaust sound though? I was thinking of gettin that brand of mufflers, how does the sound compare to the N1s? Thanks.
