Pic of Silver FD (flames welcome ;) )

1) should I leave the rims stock looking?
2) should I make them black like the Type RS-R (released in 1997)?

3)or gunmetal, like other nice SSM fd's have done?

4) or do you think it would be a shame to ruin a nice set of JDM's with powder?

sorry for the professional photo quality, I need to stop treating my camera like a tool.

Please don't mention the lift kit I've put on my car (not really)...I scrape leaving my driveway, but as soon as I get my hands on a spring compressor, I'll be scraping a lot more

TIA

Silver rims have a very classy OEM look to them, like you're not driving a modded car. It looks like a rich old man's toy. I like this look sometimes, esp. when cruising on weekend nights.

Black rims are very racey, verging on rice IMHO, I much prefer a dark grey / gunmetal.

It would be a pity to scrape such a beautiful car. I wouldn't lower it unless you've got a daily driver and a trailer to bring your car to the races with.

Is that metallic-film tint, or just a good angle for reflection? Either way, looks cool. I would've bought a silver RX7 if I had a choice.

my exact thoughts...they would look VERY good on a track...not on the street.

thanks for the feedback.

I prefer the black look, IMO everyone has their own opinion on what looks good, some people hate black. I think the gunmetal looks very good too. Choose what you like best.

Hey Dub,
Looking good man...Keeping it nice and clean. You and i are still in the same boat. We both need to lower our cars a bit...that will happen after my rebuild..

I would pick the original colour of the wheels if you are going to stay with those...I want to do nice polished deep lip with 5 spoke gunmetal...not sure what manufacturer yet but I am starting to look becasue they are next after the rebuild...

Here's a THREAD I started with some nice wheels.

edit: who's this and where do I find more photos

Stay silver. I am one of the apparent few who doesn't get the gunmetal or black wheel look. They just look dirty to me.

I thought I said, "DON'T MENTION THE LIFT KIT!" HAHA!!

Believe me, I would love to lower that b!tch...driveway sux, it's the only place I scrape. I have parts ready to go on, it's just...much much do I want to fawk up that lip???

Thanks for all the replies...I like the JDM finish, but think gunmetal would look aggressive...black looks awesome, if you're on a track. But I don't think changing the color of such nice rims would sit right with me. Maybe I'll powdercoat my stockers black for autoX events???
