I just had an aftermarket system put in my rex, and the largest speakers I could fit in the bose door mounts were of course the stock bose size, 4"... I can barely hear them. I've got a 12" 800 watt sub in the back with 4 way 6x9's, so yeah, it sounds a bit off balance. I wanna put in some 5 1/4 or 6 1/2" components but there's no where to mount them in the stock space, plus it's too shallow as most of you know, the windows will hit it... I need help! My ears will appreciate it! Need stock size mounts and suggestions on how to space it a bit.

If any of you happen to have something I could use you want to sell me... It would be much appreciated! Link to 3rd gen part request!

I have 6.5 inch MB quart speakers up front in my non-Bose FD, they fit without any problems with the stock speaker mounts. Maybe someone has some stock, non-bose speaker mounts that would work for you.

 

i got some 6.5" speaker holders on a car that was being parted out

just gotta find a good deal...i used a dremel to get my 6.5" speakers to fit in the bose holders....but i have a guilty concious knowing that my FD is rigged

so i plan to fix the problem soon

 

I also drememeled out the bose boxes to fit Infinity 5.25" I haven't installed them yet, so I'll reserve judgement. I did hear that doing this will give you a tinny sound because the doors are too hollow, so I put some foam baffles from Crutchfield behind the speakers. I'll get pictures as soon as I finish the install.
