Surprise!! More rust!!!
Well, something I have yet to read here...
I searched for it but found nothing...
I have rust in my oil filler tube!
Does anyone have any idea how to clean it out without knocking half of it down into the engine?
Thanks,
BrianHeston

Okay, I must be an idiot. I hadn't even thought that it might screw off. I assumed that it was part of a larger piece.
Maybe I should stop posting when I'm tired, and look for solutions before I ask questions?
I'm sorry I've wasted your time... One of these days we'll all have to get together just so you guys can all smack me for being a pest.

It is pressed in there.... Shake it back and forth and it will come out if you are LUCKY...The reason you have rust in there is part of your crankcase ventilation isnt working properly...

its if its just surface rust its pretty normal. when the consensation in the oil burns off it tries to go to the highest place in the oiling system, the filler neck cap area. multiply this by 15+ years, and it not hard to picture why its rusty. do a search for water in the oil in the 3rd gen section, if you want some more reading
