Smile Just finished first few parts of interior...

Well, like the title says, I've been redoing my interior some, and decided to post pics of my painted door pieces. They came out rather well, and are just the color I wanted them. I didn't want too much silver, so I only chose specific panels, but the end results look good, and overall I'm glad I did it.

The guages may be moved down one row, so I can put in a nice head unit, but I will most likely be repositioning the fan switch (which you can barely see, but is to the right of the two guages) and putting a 3rd A/F gauge...

Oh yeah, I forgot to add that. I ran down to the local supply shop, and got some "Super Silver" spray paint, by Design Master. I sprayed about 3 coats, with some good drying time in between. By itself it turned out to be VERY silver, and shiny...a bit too bright. However, I also picked up some clear coat (topcoat) for autos by plasti-kote, and sprayed it over the silver (a few times also) once it was done drying. This dulled it down a good deal, and gave it the appearence you see here. It dried very smooth, and it looks great.

Thumbs up

Your FD interior's looking pretty good Shinobi. I like the ricey idea of painting the parts. But I see you tried to save some money instead of buying silver panels, shoot, I'll woulda done it too.

UMMMMMM............ last I checked you could not buy silver panels.
Painting them is the only way to do it.

Exelent work......I love it........you know a good combo would be those silver panels plus some of the black plus some dark grey leather seats. But other than that your ride is wicked bro.

Thanks, I was actually thinking about the darker leather seats as well. I like the R1 color/style seats, but sadly they are not leather. However, eveyone who has seen the tan likes it, and actually prefers it after seeing it a few times. I must admit that it grew on me too, but I will see when it comes time to purchase new seats.

It looks very good. The silver is really, really nice. I would love to do that, but I decided on a stealth look with everything black except my wheels which are gunmetal.

Consider getting seat covers from leatherseats.com and isntalling yourself. I did a tan to black conversion. below are the threads from a year ago. Here is a pic from that thread. Keep in mind my car is a 94 so my door panels were already black, but I re-painted them black to give a darker color. My carpet was dyed black, I eventually found a set of used carpet to install.

You have gunmetal wheels! I was going to do that too. Please post some pics of them, as I would like to see how they look on a black FD too. I saw some really nice ones on my friends white FD, and ever since I've wanted gunmetal.

I'm down with the stealth look too, but as I said before, the tan really grew on me. However, those seats look really nice. They have a sort of rough, but comfy look to them. If I could get a nice shade of tan, (or maybe black when it comes time to make the decision) that would be great. Looks to be of awesome quality. Originally, my car had the full tan interior, but I put black door panels on, as well as storage bins. Too much of the tan was a killer, and I prefer how it looks now. Interestingly enough, it sounds random, but it actually flows nicely. The black pieces surround the tan, and the silver will match my custom sound system, along with the outer rim of the guages. I must say though, every time I see your car, I want to change mine more and more. It really looks good...I already seem some insperational touches I would like to do.

Oh yeah, and dupli-color is the brand to use for anyone interested...the stuff works wonders.

Here you go, I have a write up on there. Dupli-Color wheel paint and duplicolor clear coat.

I like the custom approach you've been taking Zero. I'm going along that same path as well. Your work looks great. How are the rims holding up?

My rims have held up over the last 8 or 9 months. I put about 30K a year on my car and drive the highway alot. I never get chips from rocks or highway debris. I will caution that if you take your car to a place that removes your wheels with the airgun, if they are not careful and they hit the wheel with the gun while its spinning they will chip the paint. thats the only th ing that happen to me, but I just re-painted that area, was easy and cant tell it was chipped.

Just an update:

The 3rd gauge was added, changed the shift **** (decided not to do the S.shifter just yet), and did some drilling into the dash for my custom fan switch position. I still have some cleaning up to do with the wiring when I put in the head unit, but that's all in due time...

Rear shots...

A few pics from the back... I'm wondering how it will look at night, from a rear view (and yes, my boost guage is white, because I want it to stick out, and I despise the black autometer guage).

Silver Ninety Three of the other forums, was kind enough to point me in the direction for what I've decided will be my commander mount (expected in a few days). It has a very nice look to it, and doesn't stick out too much.

Next up, custom leather for the shift and e-brake boots and perhaps Carbon Fiber to replace the black plastic.

did I say that? ROTFLMFAO...I have gunmetal interior now, LOL.

thats a cool mount, I am currently using the cig lighter, but since I am annoyed by the hard to read commanded I ordered these..I order the boost, air temp and water temp. I also have a 3 channel speaker pod on order for them.
