Stock Rear spoilers

Was there more than just one stck rear spoiler for the 2nd gen cars?

I have an 88 TII and an 89GTUs... the GTUs is in storage.. when i went out to check on something where i store it, i swear teh rear spoiler looked larger than the one i have on my TII...

Does anyone know of any difference between the years/models???

TIA

that's because 89+ 2nd gens have beefier spoilers than the 87-88 ones.

The 89+ was similar in design to the 87-88, but yes it was different.

Also, there was a blah black rubber spoiler that car in 86 and maybe 87. I dont know, I havent seen one except the one on my plush

4 types from Mazda.

Mazdaspeed had a beffier rear spoiler (plus lip & side skirts).

There's the little spoiler, the long flat spoiler, and of course the GTU/TII spoiler.

This is close...

Stock Rear spoilers:
#1 (P/N FB01-51-960A) Flat Black rubber, standard on the 86-87 Sport. Optional as a dealer installed item on all other series 4 cars.

#2 (P/N 0000-86-2186) GTU style spoiler standard on the 88 GTU and 88 T2.

#3 (P/N F061-V4-920G-XX) GTUs style spoiler, (slightly larger than the GTU style, but same basic lifted wing shape) Standard on 89+ cars (series 5) all but the 'vert.

The 87-88 spoilers are slightly different from the 89-91. The easiest way to tell them apart off the car is the 89+ ones have ''Mazda'' on the bottom, as opposed to on top like the 87-88 ones.
