INTRODUCING: FDNewbie Imports/Intransigent Design Dual Oil Cooler Kit!

Tired of the puny stocker oil cooler? Feeling uneasy seeing oil temps on the high side? Or are you a track junky in search for THE MOTHER of all dual oil cooler kits, but haven’t found what you’re looking for yet? Well look no further…THIS IS THE DUAL OIL COOLER KIT FOR YOU.

So what makes the FDNewbie Imports/Intransigent (Auto) Design oil cooler all that & a bucket of fries? :D

-
Our kit utilizes only the HIGHEST QUALITY cores of your choice: black Setrabs for the no-nonsense stealth look, or brilliant silver Mocals for function with style!

-
While the OEM oil coolers measure a mere 5.25” X 8” X 1.875,” our cores measure 7.5” X 13” X 2”, with large 25 (yes you read that right, twenty five) row cores, giving you more than enough in size, surface area, & capacity for your serious roadracing needs. This means better cooling with a larger oil capacity to give you more consistently cool oil temps!

-
Tried & true Mocal 180 degrees oil thermostat

-
Aluminum mounting brackets for oil coolers and thermostat

-
Stainless steel mounting hardware included!

-
All pre-made and pressure tested push-loc style fittings & lines from the coolers to the front cover and oil pedestal are included. Stainless steel braided lines are optional for a minor fee.
***Why don’t we include stainless steel braided lines in our kit by default? Because your safety is our #1 Priority! While stainless steel braiding protects the lines, the braiding conceals the condition of the line from your view, effectively hiding any deterioration in the line that may be present! Thus, to be safe, these lines must be changed regularly, and hence must be requested by the customer specifically. These lines must also be securely fastened away from any other lines or parts around them, as they will abrade away at anything they are left to make contact with over a prolonged period of time!***

-
Test fitted for both the 1993 – 1998 OEM bumper and 1999+ style OEM & aftermarket bumpers utilizing the 1999+ OEM combination lights!

-
Direct bolt-on, with no fabrication or custom work necessary!

And as if that wasn’t enough, our kit is 100% *GENUINE* JDM (…or at minimum, JDM-junkies have put together the kits with their own bare hands haha) ;)

This is a thread for gathering interest. The hoses will also be sent with oetiker clamps on the hose ends to provide a more secure seal.

Prometheus 02-23-08 11:46 PM

those will look great behind my GTC bumper

eventually...

SLOASFK 02-23-08 11:53 PM

That looks great, Ramy.

Any pictures with the bumper cover installed yet?

Are you still going to offer this kit with shiney cores?

chemicool 02-24-08 12:09 AM

Damn you Ramy. I thought this was a genuine offer. That thing is sick. Build it, offer it, I'll buy it.

Scrub 02-24-08 12:11 AM

If by shiny you mean silver, then yes it will be a no cost difference alternative (gotta double check). I'm almost positive the silver cores and black cores are the same price, if not then it will only be a few dollars difference. Stokexiv and I have done the R&D and construction on this kit, so if you have any technical questions we should be able to answer them for you.
We're gonna try to get some pictures of the coolers behind the front bumper tomorrow while we're continuing the v-mount quest :)

chemicool 02-24-08 12:17 AM

This thing will work with an LS7 right?......Just kidding

:D I just want something to match my FMIC.

Because my car's so astetically pleasing

I can't wait for prices to be announced!

Scrub 02-24-08 12:26 AM

haha, as long as I'm not too busy monday I should have a price worked out. So you're looking for a polished oil cooler? I've never seen a polished oil cooler before.

Silver will do just fine :)

94RHDFD 02-24-08 05:47 PM

Will it work with a 20b

Scrub 02-24-08 07:04 PM

We can make one to work with the 20b, the only difference will be a shorter line from the front cover and a longer line from the oil pedistal....unless you're running a dry sump. I'm sure we can work something out for you though.

dregg100 02-24-08 07:13 PM

can you also give a price for the kit without the lines? just the fittings, coolers, and instructions? i can get the line for free, so if its possible that would be cool!

aoc007 02-25-08 12:22 PM

Sounds good but will it be available for awhile? I was planning on an oil cooler upgrade with my rebuild and thats a ways off.

Hitokiri_Gensai 02-25-08 01:05 PM

Looks great guys!

im definitly interested!

RX7LINK 02-25-08 02:32 PM

Scrub 02-25-08 04:01 PM

I'm working on it!!! I should have the prices worked out by tomorrow, sorry for the hold up :)

RotaryWhat? 02-25-08 04:16 PM

Looks great---you need to make this available quick! Two questions though:
1) What does the thermostat bracket bolt to (hard to tell from the pictures)?
2) Is there still clearance for the cross support (for those of us that still use it for battery support)?

MazdaGuy42 02-25-08 04:34 PM

Your kit

From the looks of the pics it seems as though a radiator wouldn't be able to seat on their resting brackets at the bottom of the engine bay because of how high the feed and return lines are. The close-ups on the otherhand look like it would work. Nice kit... hope it's a good price.

1) It bolts to the steering rack mounting point
2) yes you can retain the factory cross support, it doesn't come anywhere near it.

We fitted this kit with the factory radiator and our v-mount radiator it clears both :)

aarroneous 02-25-08 06:20 PM

Looks good! What do you have planned for the ductwork that will be necessary to use these coolers properly?

bbade 02-25-08 09:19 PM

I am very interested in this kit.

The coolers are WAY larger then the inlet on the stock bumper and almost sit against the opening. I honestly doubt you'll have any problems with efficiency...but we plan on offering ducting in the future.
