Oh and I'm game for doing a Spirit R shifter and e-brake GB, but we should start another GB thread for that (since you guys hijacked this one that's for the regular OEM knobs lol). Afterward, I'll clean up this thread so it stays on topic ;)

Thanks,
~Ramy

Count me in for both Spirit R shift knob + E-brake.

Knob I can do no problem. Just confirmed I can do the E-brake handle too. But the shift boot, I'd suggest aftermarket (I can provide 'em, to match the Spirit R setup). The reason being, the OEM Spirit R shift boot is NOT black; it's GRAY to match the GRAY dash. So in a US car, it would look quite out of place.

Thanks,

If you can provide both boots with the handles for the GB, that's fine by me. Aftermarket is fine with me, just so long as they have the red stitching to match the knob/handle.

Comptech 09-26-07 09:11 PM

Yup im in as well.

rx7goomba 09-26-07 09:13 PM

What kind of possible price on these are we looking at Ramy? Without the boots.
Im tentatively in.

The Spyder 09-26-07 09:17 PM

Price please shift knob :)
I just had a local leather shop replace the leather on my ebrake for $20

rx7-r1 09-26-07 09:41 PM

how much for shift knob e brake and both boots? im in depending on price!!

Yea well it's not that it'll be aftermarket (I mis-spoke earlier); I'd provide OEM red-stitched boots to match the Spirit R handles, except that the boots would be from RZs, not Spirit R's (to have the boots in black instead of the Spirit R gray).

Also, given that I can get all the parts from the same source, I'll just post up prices for each part, and we can do a GB on any combination of these parts, as a single large order.

Oh and FYI, before people start expressing interest, I'll warn you ahead of time that Spirit R parts are expensive. Without quoting exact prices, you'd prob. be looking at the $400 mark for the handles and boots, easy. So please express interest accordingly.

SLOASFK 09-27-07 12:26 AM

how much for the knob and handle without the boots?

Comptech 09-28-07 09:19 PM

im still interested

FDZero 09-29-07 01:06 AM

+1 I'm still interested too even with estimated higher price (no boots for me though).

bwalt 09-29-07 10:03 AM

Hmm, I just ordered the shift knob and e-brake handle. Hey Ramy can I get the group buy price?

Braden

EVIL M5 09-30-07 11:30 AM

I am VERY VERY interested in both handles with both boots! Howmuch would this set be and how long would it take to receive them? Thanks in advance.

Carlos - Evil M5

Comptech 09-30-07 07:08 PM

Im not meaning to add more things to the list but, I was wondering if we get a pretty good deal on the shift knob and e-brake if we could get the shift boots with them as well. What do you think FD Newbie?

that was covered earlier in the thread. He said without getting any prices speced, he'd guess around $400.

Comptech 09-30-07 07:23 PM

Sorry guys. I missed that part. It wont happen again.

So, any update as to when I can get the shift knob and e-brake handle?

FDNewbie 10-06-07 08:24 PM

Not sure; there's currently a delay in getting the e-brake handle (not clear as to what); I'll find out soon though.

SLOASFK 10-07-07 05:05 PM

It's coming to that season where people will be taking their 7s off the road...I know I'm in no rush, I'm sure most other guys aren't either(though don't let me speak for the group).

IMO, take your time, Ramy.

car hugger 10-11-07 11:40 PM

Bumping this because I'm sure people are waiting to see the price breakdown for the knob handle and boots. I know I'm interested.

jacobcartmill 10-11-07 11:51 PM

What is Spirt R Grey? Do they make a knob with Grey stitiching?

If you look close at the pictures, you'll see that the shift boot is grey whereas the shift knob is black. The grey shiftboot doesn't match the FDs interior well(Since the American FD had a black interior, but the Spirit R had a grey interior).

eo2am 10-13-07 07:10 AM

oh thanks for clearing that up. I didnt even notice the color difference.

FDNewbie 10-13-07 10:44 AM

FYI guys, I've ordered one of each, and am awaiting their arrival before proceeding w/ the GB. Some stuff I'm just a bit cautious of, when I've never ordered it before (my personal Spirit R collection consists of used parts).

Thanks,
~Ramy

Gimpo 10-16-07 11:03 AM

I'm in for sure. not boots tho.

Comptech 10-16-07 08:27 PM

Just let us know what you think of the shifters and e-brakes.

FDNewbie 10-16-07 09:14 PM

I was just notified today that the parts are on backorder; I'm told they'll be back in stock in a month, so I won't have 'em until very late November or the first of December. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride...

Comptech 10-17-07 11:26 AM

If you get them in December you can just send mine to me for my B Day!

jef57 10-17-07 12:02 PM

Really Nice

Jay7 Nyc 10-21-07 02:23 PM

I want this also Ramy...

rx7goomba 10-23-07 11:49 AM

So whats the cost going to be on these without the boots?

puz pounda 10-26-07 12:08 PM

I'm interested!!!!

Julian 11-12-07 03:49 AM

I am interested in the shift knob and e handle

Socamoto 11-12-07 04:28 AM

As long as the price is right...I'm in! :icon_tup:

FDNewbie 11-12-07 08:43 PM

Hey guys,

I just got the parts a few days ago, brand new from Mazda. All I can say is W - O - W. Seriously. I was just  I've forgotten what these badboys look like new. I can tell you with confidence that NOTHING - and I mean NOTHING will come even CLOSE to the quality of these parts (shift knob, shift boot, e-brake knob, and e-brake boot) that's OEM - and I am not easily impressed. And that's not to say anything negative about other products, but I really gotta say, Mazda outdid themselves on this one. I'd STRONGLY suggest you guys pony up for the real deal (including the boots), because when you see the parts in person, you will KNOW you've spent your money well. THAT, I guarantee.

~Ramy

SLOASFK 11-12-07 08:45 PM

:D Glad to see you're updating, Ramy.

Exactly how much money will be well spent on this little endeavor? Now that you've purchased the pieces, I assume you have a price figure in mind?

FDZero 11-12-07 09:41 PM

Ramy, thanks for update. Perhaps the GB for this will be around the estimated GB for your VMIC project early '08 (January)? I'm for certain on the VMIC purchase and hopefully this Spirit R set wil be the icing on cake if the pricing will be within a couple hundred (I know it will cost a lot!) ;)

Christmas shopping is gonna' hurt most of us so let us heal our pockets. Regardless, I am willing to pay to play.

Comptech 11-14-07 03:15 PM

I cant wait to get mine. Thanks for keeps us in the loop on whats going on.

FDNewbie 11-15-07 12:35 AM

Got a lot goin on...closin a few GBs, then we'll set up pricing and get this one rolling, k?

Thanks,
~Ramy
