Feed hid bumper light kit

Could we do a group buy to save $

FDNewbie 02-04-07 02:41 PM

If there's enough interest, sure. See what interest you can generate, and get a list going in the thread...

RotorFrank 02-04-07 11:26 PM

What kind of doe do you think we could save on a GB for those lights?

FDNewbie 02-04-07 11:48 PM

Realistically, if I get 10 or so orders, prob 15%.

Herblenny 02-04-07 11:55 PM

How much is the kit??

I might be interested in getting a spare depend on the price.

FDNewbie 02-05-07 12:09 AM

Regular halogen is about $400
HID version is about $1000

Those are the regular/standard prices.

Herblenny 02-05-07 12:13 AM

Thanks ramy!

Im in for the regular

FDNewbie 02-05-07 12:17 AM

NP Phil ;)

Oh and I can prob run a GB on either one or a mix of the two, since I'd be buying the lights themselves either way.

~Ramy

Black se7en 02-05-07 02:10 AM

Got pictures of the kit? by itself and installed?

wptrx7 02-05-07 06:59 AM

Can the lens be purchased on this group buy?

WankelPWR 02-05-07 09:27 AM

can we get pictures please???

wptrx7 02-05-07 12:51 PM

https://www.rx7club.com/group-buy-center-69/fd-owners-99-aero-bumpers-check-out-new-bumper-lights-603486/

FDNewbie 02-05-07 06:49 PM

Since the lenses are used to cover these combos, I'm sure I can work that into the deal. But again, all of this is based on the level of interest. So I'd say get a list going of who's interested in what, and we'll go from there...

Oh and on a serious note, please don't put your name down unless you ACTUALLY ARE interested, AND are actually able to purchase the parts.

Thanks,
~Ramy

I'll take a pair of lense covers with the Hid kit, hopefully the group buy interest picks up. I'm going to buy a set either way.

word on the street is that the hid kit is a big waste of money, get the regular and retrofit

FDNewbie 02-12-07 06:23 AM

Word on the street is, I dunno if *anyone* has actually purchased the halogen (non-HID) version and retrofitted their own HID system, and compared the two ;)

wptrx7 02-12-07 10:41 AM

What does it take to get this happening, do you know off the top of your head what the cost of just the acrylic lens is? (without me having to pay an inquiry fee)

I haven't decided what I'm doing about the whole fee issue, so relax, I'm not charging anyone for anything ATM ;)

As for a price on the lens covers, they're about $250 for the pair.

wptrx7 02-13-07 10:08 AM

That's alot more than I got quoted, and I thought the (deleted) quote was expensive fro a piece of Acrylic.

i have the non HID's, and they look fairly easy to retrofit; which i will be doing this summer when i have time. for those of you that can wait, i'll post pics then.

FDNewbie 02-13-07 02:07 PM

wptrx7, feel free to go with whoever you choose. That's the nature of free competition. Having said that, FEED did recently change their pricing on a BUNCH of their parts (they updated their website as of the new year). $150 was the old price that I used to offer them for.

Having said that, I'd be happy to try and pricematch any other company's advertised price - but make sure you take into account the S&H cost they usually conceal - which is where their price hike is usually hidden ;)

Lastly, please note this is a private (paid for) subforum of FDNewbie Imports, so no mention of competing companies is allowed.

Thanks,
~Ramy

jdmrxluver 05-27-07 10:45 AM

FDNewbie 05-27-07 04:39 PM

jdmrxluver 05-27-07 05:26 PM

Hey I could be wrong...could be something I'm not aware of. But I'll tell ya this...they're def. not using the stock housing, cuz those won't withstand the temps of HIDs. They'll melt...

Well, initially I had ordered a set for myself and received both the lens cover and lighting system from Japan. A customer had asked me to order a few things for him including the feed lens cover and lights to go along with our replica feed bumper.

4-5 months later, I didn't get the lights/light cover and had asked my contact in Japan if they had forgotten. His reply was something along the lines of, "you need to buy a bumper along with the lights." They basically wouldn't sell it to him.

I ended up giving up my set to my customer and using 99 spec lights. I obviously want the FEED lights, but I can't get em.

these lights can be used with any 99 style bumper including the older FEED Type II.

Evo R already made replicas of the lens cover by the way, but i felt he should have included the tinted perimeter.

FDNewbie 06-23-07 09:45 AM

Ken, c'mon now. If you want a pair, all you gotta do is drop me a line, and I'd get it for ya @ cost, no prob. ;)

Prometheus 06-25-07 06:55 PM

does anybody have a picture of these lights actually in the on position.

If understand correctly they are turn signals and fog lights.

Correct?

all the pictures shown are great, I'd just like to see the ammount lumination they pump out.

s-thetikz 06-25-07 08:25 PM

light output on the lights will be awful and won't be of any use on the street unless adjusted heavily. A friend in Japan with these lights told me this, so its just hearsay.

RX72NR 07-27-07 09:08 AM

still interested in the hid version

anderdick88 07-29-07 06:05 AM
