Don't know. I don't want to open it up if it is a dead end street.

Deacon, do you just extend the soldered tabs with wires and run them anywhere?

What guage wire?

I know that these screens are attached to the chip with wide, flat tabs...so do I need a heavy guage wire the solder to them?

I took mine apart to do just that, However the problem is that our screen is soldered to like 20 connectors to the board. No wires or anything. I think it could be done, but You better atempt this with a spare keypad.

That is how they are all hooked up, right? They have about 20 tabs connecting the screen to the main chip. These must be cut and and reconnected with long wire, but

what guage wire? Any guage?
