Oxygen sensor question

Here's the plan:

Gen I car
streetport 13B 4-port
RB streetport exhaust
EFI (trying to decide between Haltech F10, E6K and Motec M4)

My question:
I'm learning about oxygen sensors, now, and I want to know how to handle using the 2 oxygen sensors that my exhaust system would require since the two pulses do not collect until the rear muffler, which is WAY more than the recommended 6-8 inches from the exhaust port. What does that mean for the ECU? Are they all equipped to handle this sort of thing?

If you need more info on my setup ideas, then ask. I'm still only in the planning stages, but this is an issue I have not been able to resolve by myself yet.

Thanks.

until the rear muffler? what exhaust are you planning on running? even ones i have seen that are tubular until further back are about 1.5 feet away from the exhaust port... i would recomend drilling a hole a welding a bung on the rear rotor's exhaust a few inches back if you have no provisions until the rear muffler.
i have 2 O2's on my car, but one is for the e6k, and the other is a true wideband. (not giving any signals to e6k, just for tunning purposes...which i still have to get to )

the tubes do not converge until about 8 inches before the muffler itself. i'm planning to get another header, so i can drill and tap it for the 2 sensors. my concern is i'm unclear if the ECU can read 2 of them, and if not, how do i get it fuel each rotor's needs?

by the way, what are your thoughts/experiences with the Haltech E6K? I've printed out some information from their website on the F10 and E6K, plus I got some info from Motec on their M4, and I know all of these system will control a 13B, I just want to start getting an idea of what I need and what might be overkill. I have not tried to get price quotes yet (not sure if my heart can take it yet) ... but I'm sure that will play as a factor for my final decision.

but what i'm looking for is the kind of info that owners/users of the systems can provide, as opposed to the stuff they put in the literature. you know, like, are you sorry you got and not some other system? that sort of thing ... if you don't mind my asking.

i love the e6k. are you on the haltech suport mailing list? check it out under yahoo groups. also check out www.hitman.hm Matt is the best there is imo w/ the haltech.
btw...pic did not come out. i am not familiar with the motec (BIG MONEY), but with the haltech in a rotary set up you can not control the amount of fuel for *each* rotor individualy. actualy i dont know if you can do it on piston motors either. i am still kinda new to this system myself.
choice of the fuel only or the entire shabang is up to you. i would say just go with the e6k. if you live in the US (it apears you do) then plan on about $1200 for everything you need, all the sensors, harness, manual, software, blah, blah, blah...

I know what you are talking about. You have a long-primary collected exhaust, and you want to know where to put the O2 sensor.

First of all, even if the closed-loop mode is active, the ECU will only use the O2 sensor input at cruise, and maybe at idle. The rest of the time the engine runs in open-loop mode. Your O2 sensor is really only good for displaying AFR and/or datalogging for tuning purposes.

You can put the sensor in either pipe, but it will only read one rotor, as you have already figured out. The rear rotor is the critical rotor, so this is where I would put the sensor. You could also use 2 sensors and make a selector switch so that you could monitor each rotor, or even install a separate AFR meter.

Motec has their catalog with prices available in a zip file now:

thanks for the responses, guys. sorry it takes so long for me to post, but my time online has been substantially limited these days.

anyway, i goofed on the pic ... it comes up when i open this thread, it's showing right now as i type this. i guess maybe i did not upload it correctly?

anyway, thanks to rxrotary2_7 for the comments on the E6K. and much thanks to Evil Aviator for the info on the oxygen sensor. now that's one less question i have.

i'll just tap the header for the rear rotor, and use that one for the ECU.
