help please

hey i have a question for ya. I am throwing on a turbo over thanksgiving. I currently have a 87 n/a. I dont know how well the ecu is holding up. The ecu for a n/a adapt for boost or not really know its happening. I was looking to buy a new ecu. I hear the haltechs are nice. I dont have 1k to spend on one. I also hear ya have to buy new sensors. I was wondering what would be a good alternative. It there anyway to rewire the ecu? Do i still have to get a fuel defender if i upgrade the ecu.

aaron cake threw a turbo on his n/a 7, and his running stock n/a ecu. halteck i think it comes with all the sensor ex the map sensor but theres other stand alone computer more cheaper that haltech, and no is a stand alone computer, you dont need a fuel cut defender. that for factory tII setup. do a search.
