Haltech USA Closed

Just read on the haltech support group that Haltech USA no longer exists. All dealers will be dealing with AUS directly now.

WOOHOO!

Sorry, i have no affection for Haltech USA.

So does this mean we will not be paying ~2X as much as everyone else?

I got the new 'export pricing' list from Haltech AU today, and here's what I found:

The prices we North American dealers will pay for products shipped direct from Sydney will only be slightly less than what they cost us to buy from and have shipped from Haltech Dallas. When you factor in the costs of shipping, customs, and overseas long distance phone calls, buying from Haltech AU isn't really much cheaper than buying from the guys in Dallas. I can't speak for the other Haltech dealers, but I can say that I won't be cutting my selling prices by much (if any,) and I doubt anyone else will either. If I have to send your ECU back to Australia to correct a problem, I'll quickly burn through the difference in cost in greatly increased shipping costs. Don't hold your breath hoping that prices will come anywhere near being a simple matter of applying the current AUD to US conversion to the price shown on the Haltech website. Like I said, it'll most likely be very similar to what they sell for now.

And there's always somebody who knows jack **** about engine management systems who's quick to wave their banner.

I certainly hope you were just making a joke. . . . if not. . . well. . . have fun with your doorstop.

And there is the typical response from someone who has probably never seen one let alone tuned one!!

funny about the door stop comment, not one top car in aus here uses haltech, most workshops here use haltechs as door stops

Tec3 is not as good as you think, haltech is the best ecu for a rotary imo the e6k works real good and its very easy, E11 even easier and ten times better i think its the best ecu ever i had a pfc and a tec3.
Never had a microtech so i do not know .
i'll take another 10 yrs for the others too catch up to the E11 this thing is awsome.

I have installed an E6K and an E11 and done mild tuning on both. After playing with my micrtech demo software, I can easily say that I dont have any respect for the haltech units at all.

Jet engine doctor,

You sound like a man who has something at stake? relax, and try a group hug or something.

OK, enough bickering already. It sounds to me like Haltech is just reorganizing. Many other EMS vendors are also re-thinking their historic strategy of choosing quantity over quality when selecting US dealers and distributors. I think the EMS industry in the US will be better in the near future because of this.

I don't think that Microtech has an official website.

I like the Wolf3D 4.0! :)

That is a supid statement,You can't be serious you don't even have it installed yet
did you try the datalogging with the E11, comparing different runs at the same time
that thing is badass, windows that work , micro adjustments on the timing
full sequential, switch between maps on the fly.

It is all good

There are sooo many EMS out there for us to choose from now.

MicroTech
Wolf
Autronic
Motec
EMS
Link
AEM
SDS
Haltech
Electromotive
PowerFC
ExtremeEFI
pactel ?
Defi
Fast
etc........
All of them have yet to go out of buisness
so they are improving there products
some have more money to invest in R&D then others

No one should really close there eyes
and just stick to one EMS and thats it
If your not happy with a particuler EMS
research another that would seem to achieve your needs, and give it a try.
