does this sound right......?

somebody gave me this advice and i'm not sure about it. tell me what you think. 3 mod rule? thanks

The basic rule is to leave the main cat in place until you install an aftermarket ECU. Until then, you may safely install a downpipe, cat-back, and intake. Installing the downpipe actually reduces EGT significantly, and lowers combustion pressures which can help prevent detonation. As an added bonus, underhood temperatures are reduced as well. This lowers intake temps, and slows the attack on the brittle vacuum hoses.

thanks and tell me what ya know
