Anyone using a Aeromotive Fuel Pump Speed Controller

I am having issues with my fuel heating up on long drives and cavitation as a result. Of course this does not help performance either.

My first thought was to make a cooler box and reroute the return line through it so I could cool the fuel back down.

Then I thought if I can reduce the flow when cruising so the fuel will not circulate so much that might fix the problem, plus the fuel pump would be happier.

I am running a Aeromotive A1000 Marine pump outside my tank and below it. I also run a Motec M4 in the car if that matters.

Anyone else able to use this, will it recognize a Rotary ignition signal? I am still running stock coil packs in my FC.

why don't you just use the stock two speed system with new wiring?

Because I am running a Motec M4, the stock fuel pump is long gone and the draw on the new pump would probably roast that loop.

I am running a relay right off the battery in the rear of the car to the pump.

I got the voltage controller not I am trying to find time to install it. It looks like you can adjust the RPM setting to whatever you want so this should be perfect.

Just to update this in case anyone stumbles upon it.

I installed the voltage controller. I have the low voltage set to 8.5 volts and the pump purrs nice and quiet, I set the RPM change at 3,800 RPM's which means I can cruise on the highway at low RPM's but when it is time to play the voltage kicks up to car voltage or 14.7 volts. Then the pump screams.

It also has a bypass switch so I can turn on the high voltage full time for when I am Autocrossing or just want to be bad.

The funny thing is, Aeromotive has recently revised its website to recommend using this voltage controller on any street setup and to only NOT use it if you are running the pump for short spurts, ie 1/4 mile racing.

I recently did a 730 mile one way trip with the car and the pump never once complained, it was a given I would have cavitation and fuel overheating problems before I installed this. I put close to 2000 miles on the car that weekend and not a singe fuel related problem.

It didn't, I had to get an MSD Box to clean the signal up for the Voltage controller to understand the signal.

Over 4,000 RPM's I have it at full car voltage, below I I have it at 8 volts. The pump just purrs quietly when I am cruising. It used to scream working way more than it needed to be.
