13b RE guys which EMS are u running?

We are actually running the FD Apexi Power FC in our 91 vert w/13b-re, but we have tuned several cars that were running the Microtech and Haltech units.

You would probably be better off installing a stock S4 or S5 turbo, than running the twins which will require a custom downpipe.

Im running a Wolf3d V4 with hand controler.

And i agree completly with BlueTII about the twins.

I helped build a 1st gen using an RE and a Haltech E6X. Seemed to go well...I've also done a few using the stock TII ECU but that's a bad idea. :)

ok thanx for the reply. I understand stock ecu is out of the equation, just not sure on standalone.
i was thining of microtech since it was supposely made for rotaries.but some say they garbage.

I tnought stock twins were more efficient?

If you're thinking about running the twins sequentially, forget about it unless you want to deal with the nightmare of vacuum lines. Most people run them in parallel.

If you're running them in parallel, you might as well use the s5 turbo if you don't want to fabricate a custom downpipe that mates to the stock twins.

Who is telling you such bullshit?
You really need to do your research...

I think the sentence should read "the Microtech was designed from the ground up with rotary engines in mind". This is almost a direct quote from a Microtech representative I spoke with. Apparently Microtech always considers the rotary engine first when they design their ECUs.

Now the question is...does that make it a superior EMS?

MoTeC just came out with a 2-rotor version specifically for the 13B, but MoTeC was never conceived as a rotary application EMS initially.
Does that makes the Microtech superior than the MoTeC?

If anything, Haltech has been doing this since 1986, and it's one of the oldest EMS companies (out of Aussie).

Now, before we get into another pissing match about brands, my stand is that go for the unit that gets you the best tech support.
Funny, I got an email from the OP, and this is exactly what I told him earlier...
