Of course, you can't forget that he was a professional rally driver before he did the drifting thing.

Peaks peak isnt smooth... or a rally STAGE (not course). It's a hill climb... If It were a rally, they would have more then one stage. And services.

Please play again.

Win. And I agree completely that rallying is better than drifting.

If there were more ways to get into rallying around here, especially on a budget I'd probably go for it, but for the time being drifting will have to do. Still a good way to at least learn basic car control in my books.

Oh, definitely. Nothing against drifting, it's fun to do. I plan on taking my rally car to events to play around, but its the "Drifter style" thats #@#$%$ing stupid.

The body kits, crappy rim/tire combos, and general lack of care of what they're cars look like is what makes me  (yes yes, I know, you ('hardcore') drifters dont care)

If you want some rally info, PM me with where you are, and I can send you some links and some info.

+1 to all this.

As far as the CAR goes, nope, not a rally car.

Read before you speak maybe?

You don't even need to read. Just look at the first picture, I see millens genesis in the dirt of pikes peak, I also see a formula D window banner.

And I can also read this

I honestly don't understand the argument you're trying to make. All of us on earth are talking about dry tarmac and you're arguing that rally cars have slip angle. Translate that to a road course and modern tire technology for the rest of us.

BTW, I like drifting but I hate drifting culture.

Mutaku 08-03-09 04:15 AM

This thread went downhill fast XD

To each his own, but I hate when people try to argue functionality when there is none to be seen.

As others have stated I like drifting but not the scene. Its fun to do but there is so many misconceptions and overall stupid people that I can never seem comfortable in the crowd.

Semantics:rolleyes:. The point was that the course does not have any rugged terrain that would necessitate extensive suspension travel.

I would definitely have to agree with Mutaku; it's definitely the "culture" that causes me to dislike it. It just seems to me that all the ricers jumped on the "drifting" bandwagon to justify all their shitty mods. Of course, I have seen a few very well built drift cars, such as Peter's of Defined Autoworks, but those are usually few and far between in the non-professional world.

Well, if the original subject of this thread does anything well, it makes for a damn good trolling attempt. Successful troll is successful?

Define excessive... you'll always do better on gravel with around 8-10 (WRC has even MORE) inches of travel. droop, compression, it all matters. There is no place for short stroke on a gravel road. (notice I said nothing about ride height)

The infamous miller shifter.

It's not an open container if the cap is still on but it's always within reach of the driver.

A cop would scratch his head at that all day, which is why i like it.

Turbo II Rotor, you can keep your dollar b/c it has absolutely nothing to do with drifting better. It's just for fun.

And i like the drift culture, regardless of japan/usa style or just ratty (not so much hardcore boso/alt style). Reason being is because there are less people like you in it. No doubt you do your fair share of positive input but I see no reason to bash this guy's style. Learn to live a little and have some fun.

Punished 08-03-09 05:09 PM

should have gone with Miller lite.
