ok just a few quick questions what all have you guys done to your FC's up front to allow them to go super low.. on my last one i ran a stretched 40 series tire up front on a 17in rim and still had rubbing problems up top... i hammered it out but was wondering if anyone has done anything different.. and also whats with people just cutting out the front wheel wells is it easier access or is it for more lock and is it better to just tub it... thanks in advance

how low are you trying to go?

This is what my car looks like with 215-40-17 on a 17x9. The rear is actually another 1" lower since the photo was taken.

i was stock body before so extremely low still didnt look that low^... but damn i guess once its kitted being low wont be a problem... the only reason im concerned about rubbing up top is if i would enter fast enough it would slow me down quite a bit..

There was no hammering or anything. rubbed a bit but not much.

people cut out the wheel wells for more clearence. fcs have plenty already. if people are doing on the fc they do it for looks. imo

^ Lowest vert evar. There are rub spots everywhere in the front fenderwells from being this low. I probably won't put aero back on it either, too low for drifting I think.

running a 18x9.5 on a 225/35/18 to go low. anythind under that and im sacrificing grip by running a 215... though i am tempted to go even lower. running gp sports kit. i get a lot of rubbing as i only have a few mm till it hits the frame.

DR_Knight 11-13-11 03:07 PM

hammered and sledge-hammered out everything for more clearance, but still no bueno.

i heard about cupping the frame or something like that from a buddy i think if i have issues with it ill give that a shot

FCs are really easy to make low. Use a 215/40/17 in front, and just hammer everything out of the way that's in the way, underneath the fender. It's probably the easiest commonly drifted car to make low.

I believe 235/40/17 on 17x9 +20 with around a 30mil spacer. Not done with wheel spacing yet.
It does rub still at extremeangle, but you probably wont go that far in comp...

yet more awesomeness from Hotline...

Is that full lock?

my car rubbed with 17x9 -16 with 215/40/17 on the frame rails. and those things were beat in a good 1/2" at least.

Not full lock, and no weight in the front. One day I may channel out the frame rails, but not that important right now.
