DGRR / Rotary track day at Road Atlanta.. Who's interested?

Looking to see who's interested in Either wednesday before DGRR or Sunday after DGRR...

Post here if you are interested in doing a track day.

This should be a perfect time for many who will attend DGRR from all over the country to hang out and do some driving... If enough interest, I'll check in to this to set this up.

This will be all rotary event and pending space left or to fill, we might have to bring in other vehicles...

Cool!

I emailed the guy at road Atl to find out about the schedule and also the cost. I will let you guys know. My guess is doing it either Wednesday or
Thursday would be the cheapest.

I'm in also but have never tracked before.

Will you have beginner sessions?

Steve

Hey Steve, I have yet to do road Atl and I consider myself a newb. So I'll be right there with you and will be in a beginners session learning the track.

Once I get more info from them and also contact some local GA track guys, I'll let you guys know with more details.

The Sunday after would probably be better, the way I see it, if your car makes it through a couple days on the Dragon hopefully it can make it through a track day at your own pace. I think if it was the day before we'd have several vacant parking spots at the DGRR. Sounds like a great idea though!

Herblenny 10-23-13 04:46 PM

I guess you can see it couple of ways.. Either breaking down couple of days before and try to get it fixed over DGRR (with help of maybe some rotary guys) and make it back home or break after DGRR and fix it yourself :) Also my guess is it will be cheaper.

By the way, there will be no 'FD Testing" and such at my event.. Just an all rotary car event/ track day.

Herblenny 10-23-13 05:17 PM

Let me be clear here..

Anyone else besides me, who's trying to organize a track day, piggy backing DGRR is not PART OF DGRR..

I want to be clear as I was told by few that 'someone' is trying to take advantage of people from all over USA coming to DGRR to organize their own track day for some 'testing'. I want to be clear, DGRR, those organizing the event, and ME the founder of DGRR will not take part of their event.

If you nail down Road Atlanta I'm there! I've always wanted to run on RA.

Phil, there is a small chance that I'll be stationed back in the Atlanta area by then. Whether I am still in TX or GA, if my schedule allows, I'd be more than happy to help. You know all of the regular suspects in the area.

Tem120 10-31-13 03:15 PM

I would definitely be there. I wouldn't be able to run due to lack of experience But It would put the cars in their natural environment and I would be very interested in the parade lap . And lets be honest it would put us all in the mood to go drive those amazing roads just north

Great to hear about the interest and as of now, I still haven't heard back from Road ATL. I will give them a call again tomorrow.

Once things are set, things need to move quite quickly. Since I do not have much time to organize this, a good friend of mine will be helping me out (Leo).

Any word yet?

I just finished my first track day and it was at Road Atlanta, I highly reccomend it!!

I am in bigtime.

Hey Phil, If you can't get road Atlanta or if its cost prohibitive, check with Atlanta Motorsports Park in Dawsonville. Its about an hour from RA and is a great track.

gxl90rx7 02-15-14 12:56 PM

is this still happening or obe?

RXeckless 03-04-14 06:07 AM

Phil, any idea if this is happening. Been on Road ATL for lapping the year we did the Mitty, Atlanta Motorsports Park looks like a great track. Interested but depends on date and cost? Just check it's a 2 hour drive from our cabin (115 miles or 185 KM's)
