Yep, there was a poll on facebook between end of April or beginning of May and the majority won.
I prefer April myself but I'll be there :)

.

Rocketeerbandit 11-03-18 06:53 AM

I prefered April as well.

reddozen 11-06-18 09:02 PM

It was interfering with MITTY the last couple years, so a lot of SC, GA, and AL members weren't able to make it. I'm there regardless of the date. It's my favorite vacation.

i can guarantee ur first time wont be ur last.

chuyler1 11-12-18 10:30 PM

I'm sure it won't, but it is a long drive. My wife knocked a few things off her bucket list last year and we made trips to Denver and San Fran. I told her this year I want to take care of a few things on my list. Hopefully I'll have my RX7 up and running by then, but I could always bring the REPU as well, always a crowd pleaser, but not really comfortable for long drives.

estevan62274 11-16-18 10:31 PM

Can't wait till DGRR 2019

I guess if they do the "longest trip to DGRR" competition again, you win the prize!

aplscrambles 12-05-18 07:46 PM

Guess I dropped the ball on this. Was thinking of going next year. Assume the cabins are all booked by now. Anyone know?

73rx313b 12-06-18 03:02 PM

At the lodge they are i bet, but WaterShed is right down the street... there are other great options

Never heard of watershed? I'll have to look into. Probably look into booking a place at Tapoco lodge or Fontana Village or somewhere I'm familiar with.

73rx313b 12-06-18 07:20 PM

Watershed is very nice and probably the closest place to the village. I stayed there in 2017

reddozen 01-16-19 07:34 AM

Correction... That was an old date based on the event being in April.

On 3/15/2019, T-shirt sizes will no longer be guaranteed, and the price will go up to $40. This is one of the largest rotary meets on the east coast. If you've never been I would recommend considering it.

I will be heading down this year. Any caravans that I could join? Also sorry haven't been since 2015 any places left to check to book?

I'm sure the lodge is booked out. There are other cabins int he area. There's also the microtel hotel about 10 minutes down highway 19. If you check out the "Local Hub" on the site, there's several lodging places. I need to get the map fixed, but the addresses and contact info is all there.

Awesome, I will check it out. Thank you sir.

yeti 02-21-19 07:42 AM

Hello, I'm a local. Last DGRR I attended I could show up without registering (It's been awhile, I left the community). Is that still that case? Also, do I need to register my girlfriend too or can she just tag along? I plan on only attending on Saturday. If that helps any. Thank you!

reddozen 02-22-19 12:58 PM

We request that everyone who's going to participate registers. Part of it is a liability waver etc.

Thank you, I saw this when I went to register. Sorry for the stupid question.

reddozen 02-25-19 07:28 AM

No worries man. See you there!

reddozen 03-07-19 08:24 AM

Just a reminder to everyone... The price will go up next Friday (3/15) to $40/person, and we will no longer guarantee T-Shirt sizes. We will need to place the order for shirts soon.

ROTORX7Holly 03-10-19 10:05 PM

I'm going to make it up on Wednesday this year. I started a separate thread for the Atlanta Caravan.

Happy Meal 03-11-19 01:19 PM

yayy!! ^^^^

Djseto 03-19-19 10:29 AM

I just signed up! My first time going as I just got my FD last year. Build thread here: https://www.rx7club.com/build-thread...hread-1127397/

hope the weather is good. If it's raining, I may need to drive my daily (Alfa Romeo Giulia) since all the seals around my windows are deteriorated. Really want to bring the FD so I can get some guidance from the brain trust.

rxtasy3 03-20-19 09:15 AM

first time? u will love it. i've been attending every yr since 2010. weather is usually good but u never know. if it does rain, it's not too bad and doesn't last more than a day. look forward to seeing u there.

chuyler1 03-28-19 03:59 PM

Anyone have a spare bed/room where they are staying? Looks like I'll be driving down solo. I'm a no drama kind of guy, just looking to get the best DGRR experience on my first visit.

Djseto 04-08-19 12:28 PM

Is theft ever a concern at the Rally? I'm staying at one of the suggested hotels and I'm paranoid that my car will disappear in the middle of the night...even in its fugly state...

This marks my 13th year and I cannot recall 1 thing EVER getting stolen OR vandalized. This is a well structured event, not your average kid meet. But sadly anything is possible, especially if you are not on site but we have had a great track record so far.

reddozen 04-09-19 09:25 AM

Agreed.... I don't think I've ever heard of anything happening to a vehicle at the event... besides motors blowing, or accidents hahaha

reddozen 04-12-19 07:49 AM

Online registration ends Monday the 15th at midnight.

TK7 04-26-19 07:02 PM

Looks like I missed online registration. I’ve never been and not sure how this works. My wife are planning to stay near the biltmore around this same time, so we’d just drive over for an evening. What all should I know ? Thanks!

Looks like you'll get your wish. Friday is looking to be the best chance of afternoon pop up thunderstorms, otherwise sunny. Saturday/Sunday looks clear.
I'll just cover mine if it storms

Beautiful picture! beautiful car!! Will you be Honoring us again this year by leading us of the Friday drive?

David Hayes 04-27-19 08:45 PM

Happy to lead the way.

TK7 04-27-19 11:05 PM

Is there a schedule of events? Anything specific happening each day?

Happy Meal 04-28-19 10:19 AM

http://www.dealsgaprotaryrally.com/itinerary.php

This should answer that question. There is also a hub link for local eateries and places to stay.

Djseto 04-29-19 06:23 AM

First time attendee here. Question: are people usually open to helping troubleshoot minor issues? I got my A/C working so I could make this trip comfortable. However, when the A/C is on, my idle bounces all over the place and when I come to a stop/in neutral my car sometimes stalls. I have a PFC and the IDLE with A/C is set to 1150 RPM, but it struggles to hold that (I’ve tried 1000 but then it really struggles). I suspect it has something to do with my idle screw settings, but I’m hesitant to touch anything before this trip since I have the car running pretty good otherwise (and because I’m not 100% I know what I’m doing).

David Hayes 04-29-19 08:47 AM

^ The will be a number of knowledgeable persons in attendance that I am sure would be open to assisting you. I know Ihor from IRP will be there as well as Dale Clark, to name a few.

Happy Meal 04-29-19 08:47 AM

Sounds like you might have a minor vacuum leak. Tried having or doing a smoke test on your engine/hoses?
