I posted in a thread and now I don't have the minimum post count to view the thread

I'm not a frequent visitor on RX7club but I like to check the forums to see what's going on in the community from time to time as I'm big fan of the cars. I've used the for sale forums a handful of times to buy parts for projects and I also follow certain build threads. Recently I've noticed that everytime I come on here it seems my post count has dropped since my last visit.

The most recent issue with this is the following thread: https://www.rx7club.com/v-8-powered-...ls2-fd-936341/ which I posted in and subscribed to but now I can no longer view it because my post count has mysteriously gone down.

I'd like to at least be able to read some threads and keep up with interesting builds. I understand why forums limit access to for sale areas but I'm not sure why 15 posts are required to view a thread in the V8 RX7 area.

I could easily go make a bunch of random useless posts to get the count up real quick but I'm sure it would just go back down next visit. Is there a reason for the seemingly arbitrary post requirements for non for sale forums?

I don't see any deleted posts on your account except for 1 post in a FS ad that you replied too that was shut down over some dispute. In general, the classifieds do not count toward your post count, but I do know that some sections of the classifieds have/had the post count still active. If I had to guess, your classified posts counted at one time and that was fixed and your post count dropped. I see 11 posts on your account that should count and that does match your current post count.

For the limit, it is mainly to keep the newbies in one area until they can learn the forum and it also help to catch potential spammers that way.

You might see about asking/answering some posts in the newbie Tech section or in the newbie Intro section.

We have reasons for all these restrictions. Like most things, a few bad apples make it difficult for everyone else.

Good luck.

The For Sale forum posts not counting towards the total seems like a pretty logical explanation to where my post count went. I guess I'll have to make myself useful in some conversations I'm knowledgeable on to get my post count up to par.

Thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated.
