Open invitation to our 11th annual Sevens Day. This year we are basing the meet at the Cypress Bowl ski area on Cypress Mountain. Sevens Day Cruise will precede the main meet with a thrilling group drive up the Sea to Sky Highway to Squamish, one of the most breathtaking drives in the world.
Highway 99 is cut into a steep 3000 foot mountainside and winds along and among cliffs terminating in beautiful Howe Sound.
This weekend checked out the site for our 11th Annual Sevens day meet planned for July 7th. Another club had a car meet at the same location Saturday, and despite the heavy mountain mist, got over 200 cars out. Odds are July 7th will likely be a very different climate (but this is the PNW).
Pre-meet for cruise at Mulgrave School overlooking English Bay. Looking West across the expanse of parking lot 3A, Facing off June 1st with the show-stopping MacLaren. A location so vast you can perceive the curve of the earth.
Combining a cruise and meet provided for a long day and some great memories. Should have allowed time to take a dip in Howe Sound, which is always a risk if you take a corner too fast on the Sea-to-Sky.,
Sea-to-Sky Highway lived up to its name: Jake coloured glacier fed waters and cloudless brilliant blue sky, with a four lane strip of highway clinging to the cliffs in between. Over 20 cars in our cavalcade, so cool to see a string of FD stretching forward and back. Ski runs atop Cypress Mountain provided a stunning backdrop to our gathering. Some super clean FC, nearly stole the show.
