snap hub starter?
anyone know if this is real, im talking about the snap hub that starts the car. and if it does where can i get one lol.
video is from speed master, shows it at 40sec http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyBxlBIKKqQ |
different price ranges, but cheaper and reliable I Would go NRG
http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/..._Release_1.JPG http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/..._Release_2.JPG you need hub adapter ( RX7 to what ever wheel you have ) plus a quick release kit, and of course an aftermarket wheel. |

Check their website for local distributor. http://www.getnrg.com/ |
That car sounds awesome.
|
that NRG hub is just a regular hub.
did you not see when he attached and spun the steering wheel that the car started up? That is SO cool!!!..I want one TOO!. |
In my best butthead voice (beavis and butthead)
'That is the coolest thing, I have ever seen.' |
Patrick, the guy in the video kind of looks like a Japanese version of you.... scary. At first I thought it was you!
|
haha nice
if i cant find one i might just mod a normal one with 2 extra contacts. then make a small circuit board and program it to engage the starter and ac position, take the rpm signal and after 500rpm(when crank fueling ends) release it. but not re-engage until ac has been turned off, ether by taking the wheel off or hitting a hidden but conveniently placed reset switch. sounds like it should work. |

Problem with this steering wheel is you'd be constantly torquing your wheel left and right to get the bitch to start.
|
^lmao!
|
the hub is most definitely not the starter lmao

in the comments for that video someone said that its a d1 spec quick release and that they had one on there mr2. i cant find ony videos on one working though. |
Any quick release can be spun like that I thought, I have the Bell quick release and if I remember (it's been a while sadly) you can snap it on in any position, but it rotates until it is centered then locks into position. It's getting it to crank until started that would be the trick, especially on a rotary. lol

I think it is patrick in the video, he's just not aware of his alias
