So with the best winter in decades upon us it easy to lose time to the warm weather so This is the last hard push.

The list:-

2. Install profec b 2
3. Clean up stero din area
4. Relocate battery
5. Relocate power steering
6. Pipe wategate into exhaust & wrap
7. Install new seat

Now let's hope I am not biting off more than I can chew....

djphonics 02-14-12 10:05 PM

I am cutting the bracket and dropping it down

CS13B 02-15-12 04:09 AM

Whatcha doin with that BNR3 kit after you've replaced it Styx?

CS13B 02-15-12 04:12 AM

I've got some brakes, a rear diff, and fund-permitting; a turbo kit or engine swap to do!

Buggy 02-15-12 06:14 AM

I still have to redo the ignition on the Rx-4, finish the front suspension/brake upgrade, modify and install the GSL-SE rear axle, brakes, and swaybar, get new leaf springs made, alignment, and some minor body touch ups. That's just one car! The TII is getting all new suspension, bushings, and camber rod. Rtek 2.1 computer, Apexi AVCR boost controller, new hybrid turbo and mani, full exhaust, HKS SSQV bov, gauges, and then tuning. Hoping to get all of this done by this fall.

IPWinsor 02-15-12 09:01 AM

I hear you, Hybrid. That warm snap the other week felt like March. But true spring is still 6 or 8 weeks away; hope its not a rainy one.

My wife is out of town this week, so I usually don't sleep as well when I have the house to myself. Last night, I found myself out in the garage sitting in my car at 1am, daydreaming about spring.

My list:

- delete air pump; add pulleys and block off plates.
- add resonated mid-pipe, so I can hear the stereo
- new pads and rotors all around
- add dual oil coolers from an R1
- replace MOP
- install fast IAT
- keep looking for a deal on a Twin Power
- go see thewird in case any of the above requires a PFC tweaking

23Racer 02-15-12 01:08 PM

My List;

- finish off revised ITB setup and install
- build cold air system, enclose the intake bells in a box and run air to it
- Get new shock mounting setups all welded up and installed on new struts
- fit new struts into car and find mounting points for pressure canisters
- go to chassis dyno and tune car to new timing setup and revised intake
- full alignment
- repaint white wheel set x 3
- install Cool Suit cooler and blower setup
- finalize tire choice and mount up new tires and balance

and if I get the time, machine 5 lug front rotors to 4 lug pattern and put on 4 piston calipers.

Heck really nothing at all. Oh yeah, I have a fair number of things to do on the tow vehicle as well. There was an old rule of thumb, 10 hours of work for every 1 hour of track time and it still applies, LOL.

Eric

You guys are go getters. I likely won't even think about going in to my garage till mid to late April. I finally got windshield washer sprayers for the scoot hood but no way I am taking the cover off the car lol.

vipernicus42 02-15-12 06:16 PM

- Finish cutting wires and crimping new connectors on
- Finish taping/looming the harness on the engine bay side
- Remove the audio subsystem wires from the stock harness
- Put in a box, ship to Joe
- Apologize for supreme tardyness
- Cross fingers and wait

In fact, I'm going to get back to item #1 right now. I've got the whole wiring harness spread out on the floor in front of the TV, with a little over half the connectors and looming done. Here's hoping Top Gear is on.

Fortune_Seven 02-16-12 02:28 AM

Been pretty warm here as well! but we defiantly have a few months to go. My list as of now:

- Install brackets on new seats and install
- Install Autoexe chassis braces
- Install master cylinder
- Swap in new wiper motor
- Adjust suspension
- Finish installing fire suppression system
- Install Ebrake cable, Fix brake handle

And whatever else comes up in the meantime! ;)

RacerJason 02-16-12 08:38 PM

Where the hell are you guys finding the time (and energy)? I worked 12 hours today, averaging over 10 a day, working this Saturday... life sucks!

KenSpeC 02-17-12 07:53 AM

getting an engagement ring...ssshhh.....ending my season before it even starts lol..

But nothing major really, install fire suppression, bushings and a newer set of twins and hopefully a visit to thewird to clean up my map

85RotaryRocket 02-17-12 10:38 AM

for me work is slow, but there car funds are and good.
i need to(starting next week), buy bellhousing, clutch, intercooler, intercooler pipping,
radiator, custom downpippe, have wire harness extended and modded, find a six speed ecu, change outer tie rod end, get alignment, change tranny and diff fluids

then after acquiring all those goodies, i have to install my motor(2jzgte, motor mounts on and rear sump installed), and all the above mentioned.set up my safc(no standalone this summer), find an e etest - LMAO.

and thats just car #2, the other car is at the shop as we speak getting the final touches done with before paint / decals go on.

Not too much to do, mid may should be good to go.

IAN 02-17-12 10:52 AM

Done myself other then fitting the seat..

Only did a few things.
-All fluids. Engine, Brakes, trans, rear end
-Wheel bearing in the front
-All new arp studs all around
-New rear rotors and all new brake pads

All ready for the new year. Other then running stock boost again cause my AVRC when for a shit and to cheap and out of budget for a new boost controller..... :) Stock means engine lasts forever anyhow:)

And engagement ring. Congrads..... Its over. .... All OVER>.. Lol just kidding. I'm married and with a kid and you still see me out there.. Just budget goes southish...

Buggy 02-17-12 07:02 PM

^Hey Ian, do you want to borrow the AVCR that you sold me for DGRR? I'm not using it yet. It's just sitting in my closet waiting for me to build my TII.

NAh its ok. At first I thought maybe I could test it to see if its indeed my avcr box but my luck it would pop yours. I know my solenoid works cause direct 12v to it actuates it. Besides at DGRR the roads are so tight you don't even need boost:)

mr.zoom 02-17-12 09:19 PM

mine:
- take FD
- put gas
- take it for a twisty run
- wash it
- take rx8
- put gas
- take it for a twisty run
- wash it
- take 5
- wash it
- give it to wife to take kids out somewhere
- take mx6
- finish building it for next winter..........
- repeat step 1

Neo 02-18-12 01:14 AM

So many vehicles! :)

I failed to get the BBK for the FD, nor the Sakebomb oil cooler kit. :(
Life has a way of getting in the way.
In which case, just the standard oil change and swap out the spark plugs before taking her out.

I will definitely have to get brakes and shocks for my miata. Almost out of brake pads. Hope I can last till end of march. Going to be cutting it close. :(

orion84gsl 02-18-12 08:52 AM

-Custom mount new rad.
-Cut big hole in hood for vent. Build vent a la Defined Autoworks FD/S14 style. (I'm in love with it)
-Custom sheet aluminum air dam. Haven't decided on a simple flat sheet to replace the whole thing or something more like an add-on valence. Be kind of shocked if I get to this, it's last on the list so I can get the car rolling so I can enjoy it this year.
-Polish BBS RS lips, which is surprisingly therapeutic, have centers painted and reassemble. Still need new bolts, valve stems and maybe new caps. BBS parts are stupid expensive.
-Buy tires and have them mounted.
-Buy/install Moser 5 lug axles
-Install rear TII brakes
-Bleed brakes.
-Cut metal to have Sam weld up an enclosed intake for the Sterling with cold air piping. Sucking air heated by the header is likely costing me a horse or two.
-New seats with tax return in April. I'm thinking the Corbeau GTS-II. Nice classic look with some decent bolsters.
-Trans needs a new throwout bearing and rear seal. Good thing I've had practice yanking and reinstalling the transmission. Might polish it while it's out.
-Install bearing spacers (or whatever they may be called) onto front struts.
-Alignment/corner balance/fender roll
-DYNO!! Got a new job so I might actually have time to finally book some chassis dyno time.
