I wondered if you would beat me to the punch on this. I saw Phil posted in on facebook. Oh well, I guess I beat you to it this year.

Hybrid G 10-06-11 08:20 AM

OK i plan to attend..........fingers crossed lots going on around then hopely try #2 will be the charm

will co-pilot pm me if ya looking for one

Neo 10-06-11 08:54 AM

When is the absolute deadline? Because I'll be heading down to Daytona for the 50th anniversary of the 24hrs of Daytona.
I'm hoping I'll have enough money set aside to attend DGRR.

djphonics 10-06-11 02:43 PM

We'll see how the bank treats me this year...If you haven't gone before, definitely worth going. It feels like the last one just finished. I gotta get my car working properly too before I head down, can't wait to get back in it.

MyRxBad 10-07-11 10:17 PM

I'd love to go, but have to see what money and time allows next year

Chad D. 10-08-11 07:51 PM

I'm going. My car will probably be even louder and lower.

Terrh 10-24-11 09:50 AM

ehhhh, idk.

I sure miss the gap but as usual I won't have a rotary powered car to attend with.

Room in my car if need be!

Chad D. 10-25-11 09:24 AM

Terrh, trailor the skyline.

Renesis-7 10-25-11 03:13 PM

How much does this usually run you? Lodging+gas+food... ballpark estimate anyone? (Leaving from GTA area for example)

Buggy 10-25-11 06:52 PM

Ballpark say around $800. It can be done cheaper, but depending on what happens it can cost more too. Last year we had a bunch of no shows last minute for the cabin and it ended up costing us a boat load of cash. This year if I book a cabin things will be done a bit differently.

IAN 10-25-11 07:29 PM

I never really keep track. Its something I want to do so I go and do it. Its nothing extreme. The most expensive part is the gas. Factor in $200 for hotel on the way there an back split amongst friends and the cabin is about $150 or less each for 3 days. Again depending on which cabin and how many people go in. Its under $1000 easy if your driving just by yourself. I think it was like $600 for gas as you do alot of driving. Again it depends how hard you are on the throttle, how much your gonna eat out (I bring a cooler for water and snacks rather then buy at the gas station) and if your splitting rides or not. I recommend bringing your own ride as this is one beautiful drive!

Wow, this got posted way earlier this year, than last year, didn't it. I wasn't expecting to see anything until January.

Buggy 11-02-11 05:00 PM

I think registration is already open too for people who have attended the event for more than 3 years. They are trying this out I guess. Ian you should get registered!

Really. Will have to check the link tonight... Actually just checked. Do not see where to register...

Neo 11-02-11 09:10 PM

It's extremely early... Man, every year I have to start saving money earlier and earlier. :(

Buggy 11-03-11 06:09 AM

Maybe it's the end of November that it opens. I saw the link about it somewhere.

Casual_John 11-14-11 08:38 AM

Did they roll back the website? Cause all I see now is 2011 stuff.
But I thought for sure I saw dates and registration for 2012.

DeAd-EyE 11-20-11 11:58 AM

Gonna try and make it down this year. Neo, lets do it!

orion84gsl 11-21-11 09:42 AM

I have no idea if I'll even be able to think about going this year. Luckily I only have a few smaller jobs for the car, new rad, new wheels, brakes, etc. However I'm planning to go to school this year and it's a pretty busy course. But if I don't get the loan then I guess DGRR will be easy. You'll know when I know.

IAN 11-21-11 06:01 PM

I guess we will get firm commitments when the cabin booking is due:)

Cant wait...

Casual_John 11-30-11 07:03 PM

Any day now, registration should open up...

IAN 11-30-11 08:13 PM

On the rotary car club forum there is a pre registration for people who have went three years in a row. Or three years total.... Either way register :)

Redshft 12-01-11 07:38 AM

Is there some benefit to registering sooner that I don't get? Special status for a lower number or something? Honestly curious because it will probably be a late decision if we go down again this year or not.

Have our tickets/flights/hotels for the Daytona 24hr bought, so need to see how the budget is holding up come April for the DGRR.
