7th Annual Bruce County Meet - July 27, 28, 29

The 7th Annual Bruce County Meet -
July 27, 28, 29 - 2012

FRIDAY night starts with a BBQ at Bass’s place, courtesy of the Grey-Bruce Rotorheads. Afterwards, we will be swapping stories around a bonfire while we hand out goodie bags. For the more adventurous rotorheads, there’s a great watering hole just around the corner. Be sure to BYOB and your own bedding if you're going to be staying at my place Friday night and/or Saturday night.

SATURDAY starts with a homemade breakfast served up fresh by the members of the GBR.
Breakfast will include various breakfast casseroles, toast milk, juice, and coffee. Then it's off on our day-long cruise where we'll be visiting two coastlines along the Bruce Peninsula which is full of fantastic twisty roads and coastline views. We will be stopping for lunch en route.

Be sure to bring your camera. There will be plenty of great photographic moments to be captured throughout the route that we're taking.

After the cruise, the Grey-Bruce Rotorheads will be serving up a fabulous Bruce County steak dinner back at Bass’s place. Again, BYOB will be in effect.
We'll also be having our door prize draw during dinner.

SUNDAY starts with another homemade breakfast including bacon, eggs and French toast served up fresh by, you guessed it, the GBR. After breakfast, we will again fire up the rotors and head out for our cruise along the Niagara Escarpment that takes us along our third coastline and deep twisty roads through the ski resorts of Blue Mountain. Again, lunch will be enroute.

Everyone will receive a goodie bag. Previous bags have included such items as: maps, magnets, sunblock, first aid kits, shave kits, sunblock, and water.

Everyone will also get the opportunity to enter the free draw for door prizes.

Previous prizes include such things as: digital multi-meters, various tools, electric screwdriver kit, die grinder and a car polisher ... just to name a few.

Please note: in order to help off-set our costs of food and prizes, we are charging a registration fee of:
$30 (if registered by June 30th) or $40 thereafter.

Payment must be received by midnight, Tuesday July 24th in order for us to plan meals, accommodation, purchase door prizes and assemble goodie bags.

Here’s what you get with your fee:
Free accommodation for two nights

Saturday Morning Breakfast
Saturday Night Steak Dinner
Door Prizes
Goodie Bags
Two days of guided cruises

As always I'm excited for this event! It's a great weekend! I hope lots of rotaries can make it!

RXeckless 05-03-12 09:24 AM

Great, it not the same weekend as Grand Prix of Mosport. I be there with Tequila / Modelo's in hand.
My head is already starting to hurt!

IAN 05-03-12 01:05 PM

I am 99.9% in this year. Been a few years for me.

85rotarypower 05-03-12 04:58 PM

I'm in this year since I actually have a rotary engined car. Really looking forward to meeting more of the local guys and cruising through the great scenery of the area.

Buggy 05-03-12 07:11 PM

This year if someone breaks down we only have to go around the corner to get to my garage!

Neo 05-04-12 08:30 AM

I'm hoping to make it this year. It's been a few years.

DJ_Merle 05-04-12 10:02 AM

I have yet to go to a decent size rotary meet, I think this one I will be most definitely attending!

Hybrid G 05-04-12 12:44 PM

Hey meets are shake down runs for me..... but I hope i do not have any issues i will be doing a couple shakedown runs before.

I am not worried, I heard there are good rotary mechanics in Bruce county:nod:

Buggy 05-05-12 01:43 PM

There is also a prize for best breakdown of the weekend. So even if you do break down, you at least get some consolation. ;) This is a good list of people so far. It's looking like this years BCM is going to be epic!

I would be ok with someone else winning this title :)

Yes it is :)

With that being said, it is highly recommended that you use a vehicle that is mechanically sound. While the GBR have the tools, knowhow and a garage available nearby to assist emergencies, those who are new to the cruise should be advised that there are longs stretches of twisty roads that are well away from any town or village.

Buggy 05-09-12 07:51 PM

Bumping this up. We can't let the BCM thread slide!

I'm not going to miss this for anything, the cruise with a big group of rotaries in this area would be epic! So many beautiful roads with so much scenery to see, this is why I love living in Grey county.

More than welcome :) We just need to spread the rides out a bit more this year. I do not want to upset any of the locals!

Buggy 05-14-12 09:14 PM

We may have to start a second list for people who want a ride in Joe's car...

PnoyRx7 05-16-12 02:06 PM

I'm really considering it. What's temperatures like that time of year up there? top up or down lol.

Are you fucking kidding me? We generally live in igloos year round, and have dog sleds too... Do they teach geography in school anymore?
