Turbo II barn find
And im back to the second gen section after a long stint with my FB.
iv been poking around for a 2nd gen to drift for a few months and didn't really find anything interesting until today.
poking around craigslist with the search for "rx7" like usual, came across a post iv'e seen for a few months now "turbo rx7 engine parts" what the heck i'll see what the deal is, maybe i can rebuild the engine and drop it into the FB. so i called him and was asking questions, he decided to tear it apart and rebuild it after the rear rotor lost compression, and he got in over his head. so i asked him what ever happened to the car. oh its just sitting at my boss's house collecting dust and is wanting me to get rid of it. so i go on to ask him how much he'd want for the car and dismantled motor. "rock bottom price, $400"...... alright wheres it at, im coming to take a look
I believe its a series 5, didn't ask what year it was.
body is in decent shape, has a dent in the passenger's rear quarter and the front bumper has seen better days,
interior is awesome, just needs to be cleaned
has a racing beat dual exhaust system
turbo has minimal play and the housing are in amazing shape but the eccentric shaft is starting to rust
couldn't quite look under the car to look for any rust but felt the pinch welds and they seemed to be alright. god only knows about the brake and fuel lines...
My plans are to sell the salvageable engine/ interior parts and drop in a jdm 13b and start building a drift rocket
stay tuned for more pictures and updates i plan on picking this up on Saturday

pick it up today and put in a storage unit at my buddies shop until i get a new motor
frame rails are winning, for a Michigan car from the 80's I'm really surprised how excellent the under body looks. tires were able to hold air for the trip too
Zerolift.com is where a few of my friends have bought sr20 swaps and are pretty legit. called them up and they have a s5 motor, tranny, ecu and , harness for 1300 out the door with a start-up warranty which most places have no warranty what so ever
so for now i'll be cleaning her up and parting out the engine pieces minus all the sensors i'll need for the s4/s5 swap.
debating on if i should keep the twin scroll s4 turbo or use the s5....
