Yeah mate, fd fly wheel to s5 clutch works fine.

I'll be interested to see how your motor mount compares, i have a motivfab mount for my conversion.

just subbing to your build. i am totally diggin all of it! that turbo is freakn awesome. this is exactly what i want to do, find a "seen-better-days" fc and make it mine. as far as $400 bucks go, probably the best $400 you could ever spend haha. the car looked pretty clean for how you found it. good find! keep it up man!

Put on some block off plates today. There are like eleven of these things!
Also got the flywheel machined and clutch put on. Everyone is going to hate this, but I am running my N/A trans, until it gives in. Eventually, I'll find a T2 trans near me.
Since I'm going to explode my two N/A transmissions, I saw no sense in buying an expensive clutch for them. I bought a $95 ebay "stage 3", which is supposed to support 325hp.

We'll see.

I also test fitted my fuel rails. I need injectors and I'll be crazy close!

Injector Dynamics 1050x primaries and 1700x secondaries. Apparently, this "X" series is new and improved. They replaced the 1000s and1700s.

Had to clock the center section and compressor housing of the Borg. Needed the oil drain facing down and the compressor outlet around 11pm.😀

One day I just decided to put the motor in the car.

I replaced the clutch slave and clutch line. It's ridiculous how easy these things are to get to.

After much test fitting of the front bumper, I decided where I wanted my oil cooler to go. I bought some lines and fittings off of Amazon, put them together and voila!

I still need to hard mount it to the body of the car.

After that, I started working on my V Mount setup.

It took me a few days to realize that I needed to flip the radiator over, so the openings were down.
I didn't go with a V mount kit from eBay or any other source. I fabbed my own mounts with Aluminum stock from Lowe's. The radiator and intercooler are now mounted extremely solid. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Most stock radiators have some sort of rubber bushings isolating them from the vibrations of the car.

I didnt see anything about u setting up any air ducting to force the air to the v mount set up its a must for an efficient setup,still looks good man

I definitely plan on adding ductwork to channel air through the v-mount. I've been pretty lazy with this project ,over the last 6 months.
I replaced the stock style fuel pump with a Walbro 450. I hard mounted the oil cooler (as it was only zip-tied in the last pic). I have also replaced the pulleys with aluminum pieces. I did this because my crank pulley was bent.
The drivetrain is all buttoned up and the wheels are back on.
THE CAR IS ON THE GROUND!
It's a big deal.

Here's what is remaining:
V-mount ducting
BOV plumbing
Wastegate plumbing
Exhaust fabrication
E8 wiring (the most tedious part!)
Finalize and clamp all IC piping

SO CLOSE!!!

I ordered a Haltech 3 channel ignition module to wire up. I'm having trouble figuring out how to line up the ignition outputs of my Haltech e8. I'm using the factory FD coils and I'm not sure which coils should go on the number one, number two and number three outputs.

I'll probably call haltech about it.

In the meantime, I secured my fans to the radiator and fabricated some V Mount ducting.

Here's a video of my V Mount ducting. I think I'm going to add some to the bumper, once I get that put on. Also, I added cooling fans to my radiator. Got them off of Amazon for a really good price. Hope they work well.

Had a little trouble figuring out how to bypass the factory security system. The Forums were very helpful, though. I got the starter wired up properly and the engine is spinning.

So, I was having trouble getting the car to fire up. Turns out that I had the ignitor wired wrong. I toasted it. 😢
I decided to go with LS coils. Got them wired in and SHE FIRED RIGHT UP!
What a great day!

I went to put coolant in. Filled it and then fired up the motor. While I was letting it warm up, I noticed a couple oil leaks. Both were due to my bad oil line building. Shut the motor off til I can fix those.

IMPORTANT: With the 13b-rew in the FC chassis, the little coolant filler thingy on top doesn't clear the hood. I took it to a welder friend and had him shorten it.
