My FC Cosmo build..sloooow
Well After letting the car sit since Aug 07. I finally got around to building the new engine.
S4 half bridge dyno; 480rwhp.....this one, who knows! I've changed a quite a bit of stuff since then. Added a whole new gauge set up. I changed to 17x9s up front. I took the Shine aero kit off. and mainly fixed all my old hack jobs. Ive done a lot more to list. Here is a teaser pic...until I progress further. Tomorrow I will take pictures of everything. Cosmo 13B-RE full bridged. http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m...4306939047.jpg http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m...4306866742.jpg |

John ny |
Thanx guys...currently the engine is at Camp BDC's. My short term goal is to make 500rwhp under 20psi.
|
WOW, now thats beautiful
|
yay 13b-re's for the win :)
What turbo is that mate, you planning on any other injection for your 500+ rwhp ? |
well ill try to run straight race gas first. i have seen this turbo make closer to 700rwhp. so we'll see as time passes
|
Man... i still can't believe you didn't gimme a ringy ding when it got put together. I wanted to see the pinning (if you actually went that route).

MOAR PICS!!, btw who did your polish on the manifolds?? i want to do the same to my RE.
btw you swap to s5 water pump housing and front cover? |
The intake manifolds are not polished, they are ceramic coated....along with the water pump housing and the front cover.
Also I used my S4 housing and cover. http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m...4306854969.jpg http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m...4306881383.jpg |
I just don't like the rice on your intake manifold. "Sequential Twin Turbo", when clearly you only have ONE turbo.

I think for the motor hes putting in, his power goals are a little low. Notice he doesn't talk about turbo size, just boost pressure. Is that a MP T78? Needs bigger...

Since he forgot to mention this its a GT45.... by whom... i forgot |

Notice I answered that question..... earlier in this thread
|
see the thing about us who actually have/had high horsepower rotaries we tend to start giving up on how much power we can make and start to worry about safe boost levels.
Anyone can bridgeport and slap a turbo larger than a gt40 and create well over 450 whp with all supporting mods but at what boost levels.....20+lbs do you now how sweet would 500 whp at 14-18lbs of bost will be. SAFELY |
Well I wanted to make a small goal first, accomplish it...then set a larger goal.
I have no doubt this set up is capable of near 700rwhp. Keep in mind this is a street car. BTW the compressor wheel measures in at 68mm. I do not plan on keeping this turbo forever. I will probably not set record breaking levels. As this engine will be pulled by the end of the year for upgrades. Then I would be able to push the envelope but, this is all fun and games. |
Any updates?
|
good luck with the build bro im doin the same thing to my fc.
|
