How Much Battery is Needed ?

Been a while but I'm back and still have my 88 rx7 GTU. I have a battery question. Is a 450 CCA battery sufficient to properly crank the RX ? Recently it has started to click as if the starter is stuck for a few times then cranks. I did replace the starter with a spare I had and it does the same thing. Perhaps a more powerful battery? I just put a new one in.
Thanks in advance for your help !!

A new battery should crank the engine no problem. 450 cca should be sufficient, but I think you'll be taxing it later on in a couple years. A battery that small probably doesn't have a very large reserve capacity. When you discharge a battery a lot and then subsequently recharge it, it's not good. At least not for a regular car battery. Deep cycle batteries are a different story.

Anyways, you should probably look into other problems... such as grounds, poor connections, etc. If the battery is new and starter is good, then you've got something else going on.
