Fuel Problems
Fuel Problems
Okay so, in my RX7 i have compression, i have spark, oxygen, everything. But i pulled the line from my fuel filter today, because i finally got around to replacing the filter, and just to see if gas was even making it there, i turned the key to the on position, i heard the hum of the fuel pump, but nothing came out of the line, and i know for a fact there is gas in the tank because i put it there.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Seems most likely a problem related to the fuel pump. Yank the FP hangar from the tank and see what you find. Is the rubber fuel line from the pump outlet intact. How does the pump strainer look?
^True, but the pump must prime to start the car when the key is turned to the start position, which is (presumably) why he heard the pump (if it was the pump). Fuel would flow thru the line to the filter momentarily.
You can get to the on position w/o beginning at the start position first. All he states is that he turned the key to on. He never suggested he turned the key to start first then released the key as it turned to the on position.

If you're looking to prove the existence of fuel flow all you need to do is place the fuel hose you played with earlier in a jug, jumper the fuel check connector, and then turn the key to on and you should see fuel quickly fill up the empty jug. Fuel check connector is part of the same harness as the Boost/Pressure Sensor so the connector is found on the bottom of the Emission Harness that runs between the engine and the passenger fender. It has two wires in a Yellow plug and the plug is encased in a Black rubber boot.
And is the car an S4 or S5?
