engine overheats

engine overheats

just build a 87 13B, new everything inside, no smoke, no oil burning, starts run but over heat, I am thing bad water pump. Any ideals welcome

Topic has been covered many times before, basic troubleshooting would be to check that the thermostat opens as intended in the FSM. Check to make sure the radiator is evenly warm and doesnt have any cold spots in it. Rad cap also has an effect on overheating issues

What makes you think the water pump is bad? What are you using to measure the water temps?
