89 GXL to go +T with other goodies!
8 Attachment(s)
Hey y'all!! I thought I'd share what im getting done to my 89 GXL to restore it and add some more power!! with myself being on deployment (navy) at the start of the build, most of it is being taken care of by a builder in Miami at RotaryWerks, which is perfect for me because as much as I would love to do this myself... this is my daily and I would need to drive it still . I will be adding other things when I get back but for now I will post up progress that I get and go over what I've picked to go the vehicle. Most of the things which I researched here on this very site!!:icon_tup::icon_tup:
First a list of planned upgrades- S5 TII Engine and transmission w/ turbo KOYO Aluminum Rad (Double Pass) Competition Engine Mounts Competition Transmission Mounts Stainless Oil cooler lines REV TII Exhaust from RB Adaptronic Modular ECU Ford Taurus E-fan Godspeed FMIC Racing Beat springs KYB AGX shocks Hyperflex complete bushing kit Exedy Stage 1 HD clutch Ford Taurus Alt 4xID 1000cc injectors Walbro 255 fuel pump Aeromotive A1006 FPR Stage 3 BNR S5 turbo Now... I'm starting this thread a tad late and am part way into the process already, so I will fill in as to what has happened over the past few weeks. but here is the car as it stood when it was shipped to Miami. Attachment 751325 I had purchased an engine from a supposedly reputable engine dealer in Orlando and when the engine arrived it seemed that not everything was kosher at first look inside it was not good signs Attachment 751326 So when the keg was cracked the engine was found to be almost 80% unusable Attachment 751327 The decision to go +T was made here considering that I had purchased the necessary components to build around the engine. I just couldn't run as much boost as reliably on high comp rotors as I would be able to on the low comp ones. No worries though as my current N/A housings and rotors were in excellent condition!! Attachment 751328 Attachment 751329 Attachment 751330 and the last thing to catch yall up would be to say that I purchased a set of GTR32 wheels from another member on the forum and sent them to be powdercoated!! they have no scratches and gouges, just a lot of paint wear. Attachment 751331 Attachment 751332 More to come when I can update!! |

I didnt quite understand, are you using your NA rotors for the build? Beautiful looking car by the way, how many miles on it?
|
Thanks man it had 152,000 on it when I left for my deployment, and yes I'm using the N/A rotors and housings.
