1989 Turbo II Build
8 Attachment(s)
Well i finally did it after so many years of talking about it. its a 1989 turbo ii that i found in ottawa. car has 150k on it, the car runs fine, but the clutch is chattering and theres a thumping noise from the rear end when i accelerate or let go of the gas at a high speed. i think its the front diff mount, but im not too sure. anyways, ill just let the pictures do the talking.

New updates! got some cheap fake bride low maxes with rails and brackets. problem was making a base for the rails. NO PROBLEM! TO HOMEDEPOT!!!! so i got some 3/8 x 1'' steel bars and made myself a base. didnt take enough pictures tho... but ill get to that one day if i ever make a write up. Im relatively average guy, 5'10 ish, size 33 waist. the chair fit me pretty good, and with proper adjustments, my height position is really good. also i chose a skinnier padding for the bottom on my chair so i sit a bit lower too. o yeah and my wheel isnt detachable, im looking for a quick release but it'll do for now...

eBay? Are those fia certified lol?
|
nope, local guy that sells car parts. its def not fia certified but my brother uses them on the track and they can take a beating. im not doing any time attack anytime soon and i hated my stock seats, so i thought i would get some fake brides.

if this is the same car i think it is it soo damn clean. congrats on the buy. Did you buy it off an older lady here in ottawa?
|
Long story... lol so this car was up for sale in march i think. And when i first saw it, i thought that its a little too far for me to travel just to see the car. So a couple of weeks later the cars ad is off kijiji so i thought to myself that im an idiot for not going. Butttt last month it came back up for sale again in ottawa. Apparently the person who bought it was a friend of the ladies and he got it for a deal. Problem was that he had no room for the car. So immediately i went for it. My friend keeps telling me how its fate that me and this car belongs together =p

Its been awhile and ive been kinda slacking off lately, so i decided to do this!
Attachment 685793 Originaly my evc couldnt fit into my ashtray properly, the thing was just too damn big. It just kinda left it sitting on the outside of it but it kept tipping over everytime i floored it. Attachment 685794 Attachment 685795 So i decided to do something about it... At first i thought this was gonna be an easy job, maybe 20 minutes tops, but damn was i wrong. This ashtray is wayyy tooo small for the evc. It took me like 2 hours to get it to actually fit in. I dremeled all the ridges inside the ashtray and cut a hole on the top to drop it in. Attachment 685796 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y28...ps694c052a.jpg Attachment 685797 It took alot of adjustments to get the door to close on this thing but eventually i got it. The bad part was i slipped and caught a bit of the open tab and scratched it :wallbash: (If anyone wants to donate one to me, that would be totally awesome! LOL) Attachment 685798 Attachment 685799 Attachment 685800 Attachment 685801 Anyways, so yeah it stays in there real tight and looks alright. I think i might paint the insides since the colouring kinda went away, but for now i just put some electrical tape on the outside to kinda hide it abit. Its hard to notice it unless you actually shine a light inside the ashtray. |
