Cool, really nice build.

ulfsinclair 10-16-08 07:27 PM

How much would you ask for complete package of the widebody kit? Fiberglass or Carbon fiber.

RXBeetle 10-16-08 08:40 PM

I just found this thread and all I can say is keep up the incredible work. You have built one superb machine, can't be said enough.

Dont know the exakt amount of hp in the car, but can tell you that i'm running a large streetport, with 22psi of boost...

So if someone wants to guess the number thats ok, but i dont know..
But that the engine is powerful is for sure. Keeping up on a Audi s1 at the track..

A update of the rear hatch

This is an early version of the hatch, was something i've put togheter just to see how it will look..

The one i Will be using will be produced during this week.. If i get time for it.

The one on the picture might be for sale if anyone wants it... I would prefer to paint it though. Some air bubels in the edges as you can see on the pictures.

Thats for sure..
But brakes are one of the most important things for setting a good lap time

dj55b 11-17-08 12:22 AM

very interesting rear hatch idea ... its really good to see something so fresh from you all the time.

Norwegian_rotary 11-17-08 12:25 AM

thanks

Have to get rid of all this hevy weight pieces from the car you know.. So have to figure out how to do it without destroying the car or do things that makes it harder to drive the car fast around the track..

More will come;)

dj55b 11-17-08 03:02 AM

I can help you shave off some more! For the tail lights, make a mold of the outside shape of it only. Then print a single or 2 layer carbon fiber sheet of them. Replace the original bulbs with leds that sit in a holder like this:

http://news.thomasnet.com/images/large/005/5270.jpg

You can get the cool chrome looking ones like this:

http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/images/UCHB.jpg

That'll help shave a few pounds. Also drilling a few more holes with a hole saw in the doors can get you a bit of weight off. Also I don't believe you did the wiper cowl in CF did you? That could be another thing on the list.

That is true yeah.
The wiper cowl is'nt that heay in the beginning though, so not very much weight to save there.

About the tail lights, as you can se that car is still registrated for the road, so I have to keep the tail lights like they are beacause of that..

But Iĉm thinking of the Dash, door panels will be in CF.

The sunroof will be all CF.

All the CF parts wont be made during the winter though, consentrates on the main parts and important things like the brakes and the rear axle now..

The driveshafts in the rear axle are twisted so the splines looks like threaded screws

So this is where the main upgrades are comming on this winter..

dj55b 11-17-08 01:28 PM

why can't you have the taillights done like that even if it going to be road legal? as long as you still maintain all the lights should be fine. Thats what I'm doing sooner or later.

Sindregutt 11-20-08 08:17 AM

Its norway! Gotta love norway! Everything has to be E-stamped etc etc...

Hehe, i agree on that.. The government of Norway realy does love cars.... NOT....
Everything you put on to your road legal car has to be approved from the government by that is stamped with a E.. That means the part is approved for use in EU.

And Sindre.. yes, get you d*** out of that fun hole and get over here to make you a bumper now;) so you can get your daily cruiser on the road..

OnlyOnThurs 11-22-08 02:36 PM

dj55b 11-23-08 01:40 AM

If someone wants to pay the price for a set of CF, then no problem, but it is EXPENSIVE.

orion84gsl 11-23-08 09:04 AM

We NEED vented or louvered hoods in CF. I hate to rain on Fibremaz's parade but he's taking too long. Plus shipping from you to North America would be cheaper. I was just going to add some universal carbon louvers to my hood, but I might start saving for a full carbon hood if someone gets them ready soon enough.

warwickben 11-23-08 10:58 AM

heck i wouldnt mind those louvers that you talked about where you find those

hehe, if not a rally stage so, i can tell you that it's a good road for testing my mazda during the summer, gravel road.

Anyway, this is how the landscape is in norway, either like this, or with a lot of mountains.

Ohh, Jan Tore, have to be careful on the snow, dont be driving to fast or run in to a ditch.

Should know that when you're living in a snowy county like we are;)

warwickben 12-08-08 05:10 PM

i love living in New England around xmas. seems every year when i drive from my house in mass to my buddys place (100 pluse miles on the high). i see atleast 5 cars from down south or some state that doesn't have snow flipped over and off the highway. its funnier when you see some one from newengland in a ditch cause they should know better. the best was the cop that fliped his car 2 years ago in front of me on the highway. i had to give him a ride since it was 15 miles north and south from a exit. side note its only funny when you know the person isnt hurt.

is it true that living in norway every thing is more money ect. like is cost of living super high?

I'm going to Portland Maine this christmas....although I won't be driving. I'm actually from maine, but never driven in the thick stuff.

Sidenote, we do really both have 2.3 ford's (I have 2 XR4ti's) and wankels? Thats beyond awesome.

Living in norway is expensive yes. The cars costs twise as much here as anywhere else in the world. The gasoline here costs like 1,5 dollar for a liter. Yes a LITER.

norway is not a good place to live in if you likes cars,.

warwickben 12-09-08 05:01 AM
