there's something about your car that i instinctively don't usually fancy, yet somehow i can't help but think your car is hot. i really like the photo in post 16.

im no longer 4x110 i converted to 4x114 but not with the SE stuff. I redrilled my axles and pressed in some ARP studs for the rear. For the front i redrilled and tapped the rotor then used some threaded studs from mazdatrix. heres some pics.

Did you drill the axles and hubs your self or have a machine shop do it? If you did could you explain, did you just measure and drill? Build a template?

craaaazzy 12-20-12 08:54 AM

good work on the control arm. what will u be using for spacers to keep in centered?

dbragg 12-20-12 09:31 AM

Nice car and work. I am really digging the XXR 527s.

I assume you either have machining skills, or a good shop, but I too am curious about how you did the axles and rotors. When I went 5 lug years ago, I couldn't find a shop that would touch drilling my GSLSE axles to 5x114.3, but I solved that with a pair of Moser axles.

How about some more pictures of the interior and some engine bay shots? Out of curiosity, is the car built for any particular purpose or just enjoyment?

I have acces to a machine shop at work so on my brakes i hung the axles off of a conventional mill found center and drilled the holes 2.25 from center. As for the hubs i had a friend at work stick them on a CNC mill and drill the holes for me

I like the ideas you are going with on your build. Especially the your new bolt pattern idea. Keep up the good work!

red94yj 12-20-12 12:33 PM

I don't think I have ever seen this color on a car before. You have done a great job with it. I like the build.

jaman 12-20-12 01:26 PM

What product did you use to coat the interior of the car? I have some rust that I want to fix and then coat but not sure what to use.

I finally got a chance to do some more work on the car.

I installed the lower control arms and did the alignment. I set the arms to -1.5 camber. I probably could go up to -3 degrees. I did the alignment in my garage.

Im glad they ended up fiting.

neektar 03-29-13 06:46 AM

How'd the finished product of the rear lower link come out? I'm interested in a similar solution, possibly using off the shelf parts meant for another car. I do like this way better though.

Car looks great too. I love that color.

lilmazdarx7 03-29-13 10:02 AM

The rear lower links worked out great. Iwas able to get my pinion angle back to where it need to be. no more vibrations at freeway speed.
