Stop teasing us and give us a video of your car :)

I bet she's a blast even at 12 psi.

So far so good .. 12 PSI of boost at the moment..

Almost forgot Erick ( Rotary Werks) welded some support to help with the heavy BW turbo..

Thanks

Can wait to meet some rotor heads from south Florida...

By the way I got a new toy today... Getting out of the dark age off EMS..

Cool, I've heard good reviews about the Vipec ECU

I went with a Adaptronic for my GSL-SE.

Went to county line race track last night .. What a itch to make a pass but I am not there yet with this car..

I just wanted to do some AFR logs with street load, but the track was full of cars for test and tune.. Maybe next week on Friday.. I know I am to rich on top...

I am going to hold back on the install of the V88 and the extra injectors until after the Churrasco meet on November 2..

Hopefully I will post number on Wednesday 10/30 on low boost 12-15 psi... I am curious what she is making as she sits right now ... I don't have tires under the car for more power...

Good news to report from the dyno..

We make 358 whp @ only 12psi WG spring pressure...
Top number for today 382 whp @ 14.7 psi..

Stock wheel and tires don't like this power level... :)

I will like to thanks Eric at Rotary Werks for the tune and attention to detail in this built..

Here are the pics....

What was the reason for moving from the Microtech to the Vi-PEC unit? I've accumulated all my parts (knock on wood) for my TII swap and have a Microtech LT8 unit for the EMS. I know it's a bit outdated but they've been solid in their performance so far from all the research I've done (plus I picked it up with full harness for a steal of a deal!)

I'm putting together a very similar set up to yours I would like to know what spring rate use in your bov

Simple: in my opinion the Microtech is a good and simple ECU... But at the same time lacks features and outputs needed for a street car.... It left me wanting a lot more...

I went with a Vi-pec to get a better idle control specially with the air-conditioning on, flex fuel ( I am running E85), closed loop tuning, fail safe ( fuel pressure, double fuel pump) and a better system to log EGT, AFR, fuel press, oil press and knock ..

The Microtech is very limited....

Don't get me wrong, my car drive's and feel good with the Microtech but I am ready to take my car to the next level and I don't feel comfortable doing it with the Microtech..

I hope this answer your question..

Time to bring this back from the dead..

Part order and should be here this weekend ...
AEM ignition smart coils
AEM 5 bar map sensor
GM Air temp sensor
GM Flexfuel sensor
New OEM style Radiator

Hopefully Erick from Rotary Werks can get my car in next week and do the Vi-pec install..

Last Wednesday we did some minor fixes to the car to leave everything ready for the Vi-Pec install..

Will update with pics soon...

I also change my BOV spring from the 0.7 to 11 psi and the car feels totally different in a good way.. i should have done this a long time ago... My engine pulls good vacuum in idle and I think it was leaving my BOV open...

It is a good yet expensive problem to have. I ended up going WB because of traction issues and having a hard time keeping the pointy end going forward when accelerating through curves. With the extra tire it is much more planted and fishtailing has been eliminated (unless I'm going it on purpose).

Copy paste from my ViPEC section threat:

Finally all the parts are inn..
Racepak dash with ViPEC interface can cable..

I took the car on Sunday to Erick at Rotary Werks to start taking out the Microtech off the car..

Soon more updates.. Will be installing 2 1000cc injectors in the primaries injectors bank and moving the 2000cc to the secondaries injectors rail .. I will now have 8000cc in my secondaries fuel rail :)

Today I Got the most important part for my car In my opinion.. Safety First....

Little Update from the Dyno: we took the car to 16 PSI and made 407 whp and 320 tq.. Dyno sheet to come Eric had to go home for anniversary... Remember my stock GSL-SE differential don't like power...

I am in love with this 30 year old car :)... More to come from the Dyno next week.. We are setting up the knock sensor.. I had RX8 knock sensor but my tuner recommend some bosh unit that I will install next week..

WOW IT BEEN SO LONG SINCE THE LAST UPDATE...

WE GOT THE CAR BACK TO THE DYNO FOR A BREAK IN TUNE ON THE NEW SEMI PERIPHERAL ENGINE DONE BY ROTARY WERKS OF MIAMI.. THE ENGINE NOW SPOOL THE S366 TURBO LIKE IT WAS A 61MM...
Erick also change the exhaust manifold to a double wastegate Rotary Werks custom manifold....

Here are some Screenshot of the remote tune done on Friday... Dave from Dtech Motorsport really know his ViPec ECU... You can see in the picture all the sensors working in harmony, specially in the log files .... we now have 2 ARF widebands pre turbo one in each runner and one on the down pipe... :)

The car is at the shop Rotary Werks doing the turbo install with Eric.. Dave from Dtech Motorsport will be tuning the car this afternoon... Hopefully we get 500whp with the factory gsl-se diff.. Hopefully it will hold for a few months:)..

Here are a few pictures of the turbo..

Well after a great day at Rotary Werks and all the help and effort they usually put on my car we got little over 500 whp at 20psi of boost with a boost leak.. The boost leak was found after we got the car off the dyno.. Will be fix next Wednesday and back on the dyno to recheck the boost map... Here are some pictures of the new turbo and a dyno sheet for one of the runs.. The new turbo Borg Warner SXE S369 is great, more power with no lag difference compared to the standard S366... Dyno sheet was done at 18 psi..

AXA 07-23-15 01:09 AM

Forgot to post this video, my favorite so far.... Love the flames at the end.., In this run we made 460 whp.

Been driving the car almost every day... Feels great on the street even in heavy traffic.... The new turbo BW S369 spools the same as my old S366 with a lot more power...
Car is a monster... No traction with 14 drag radial in 1,2 or 3 gear.. :) when you hit full throttle in 4 gear you think it will never get to 8000 rpm, this thing keeps pulling and pulling to red line... A lot of fun in the highway... Time to start thinking about breaks upgrade......

We just finished doing some minor tuning las Wednesday with idle valve and cold start and the results were better than expected... This car Been a semi peripheral it drives, idles and behave like a mild street port car.... Dave has done a great job on the tuning and Eric has built a great engine...

Next thing on the list is a diff and some big drag radials tires and more boost.. This turbo really shines in the 25+ psi area...

craaaazzy 08-01-15 04:12 PM

You're still on the stock GSL-SE rear end, right?

Hard work pays off …. Thanks to Eric Gerardo Monzon Rotarywerks great engine built and my tuner David Heerdegen from Dtechmotorsport.
We have a very reliable (7 seconds 1/8 mile 10’s seconds 1/4 mile mile car) with stock OEM GSL-SE diff and stock OEM 14's inch rims with 205/50/14 drag radial….
The car is only running 18 psi of boost do to the stock diff..

Mission accomplished for stage 1..... More to come..... Having a 30 year old street car that gives you this type off excitement and at the same time is a beauty and fun to drive on the street is priceless.....

estevan62274 12-17-15 04:28 PM

Big thumbs-up!
