Question Fuel Pump

what kind of fuel pumps are people running on their fbs? i have an 82 fb with a 13b 48 ida webers. and the other day i realized i was running a duel pump for four years and not knowing it. my theory was one pump (stock pump) to pump the gas out the tank and the other pump (cheapy carter pump from autozone) to carry out the rest of the way. now it seems as my stock pump went out and need a new one cause the carter one doesnt have enough force to pump it all. i was thinking of getting the racing beat mallory pump and hoping i would only need one. can anyone relate or details on the fuel pump set up?

Dual pumps connected in series makes no sense at all; you're limited by the flow rate of the less capable pump.

One pump of proper size is all you need.

with my bigger fuel pump I had to run a wider return like to the tank and that was a walboro 255. are u running a fuel pressure regulator in the line befor the carbs?

no im running a return. wouldnt know how to set that up with my webers. im not also using a pressure gage or regulator. but since the mallory pump comes with an adjustable bypass would i need the regulator?
