SC 85 GSL-SE wide body (RE IMSA GTU kit)

old guy back around (re-intro thread) to build myself another hot rod grocery getter / track day RX7...
A build thread was suggested... my body kit kit has arrived... the car is about 75% gutted... so lets build a weekend toy.

Previous build experiences / tips are welcomed. Let me please say that: NOTHING IS FOR SALE AT THIS TIME ... later down the road we will see...

TIA

Just a small update...

body panels coming along...

piles of spare parts that will not be used...

but let me be perfectly clear here NOTIHNG is for sale as I do not have sufficient posts and have already been chastised by the forum police... BUT all parts (except roof) are/will be available for free if anybody can use it and is close by to the upstate of SC

Otherwise any help on wheels would be appreciated. Trying to search for wheels based on diameter, width, offset, and bolt pattern does not seem to exist...any/all thoughts welcomed.

i would think wheels would be easy to find considering the SE has a 4x113.4 lug pattern instead of the 4x110. i'm sure there would be some fabrication involved but could opt for FC brake upgrade for 5 lug wheels.

rxtasy3: thanks I had considered the 5-lug upgrade but was avoiding for now.... just can't seem to find a wheel website that I can search for wheels based on the diameter, width, offset, and bolt pattern... just looking up 84 RX7 is not going to give me wheels in the size range I will be needing

Twennyseeks: sorry no targa band

Thanks rx... & j9...

another question that I have not been able to find after looking for about a zillion thread that came up when I searched: "wide body FB car cover".

Question:
Does anybody know what car model (any car, any model) that's car cover for that vehicle will fit my build?

As I said in the first thread "nothing is for sale" (some forum rule regarding number of post). BUT most everything being stripped (which is everything you don't need on the racetrack) is available just come pick it up.

front fenders
door panels
seat belts
behind the seat storage bins, covers, and sheet metal support structure
window trim moldings
sunroof (although it needs lots of rust work)
basically everything under the hood except engine and things needed to make it run...
including the complete AC system which I hate to break the seal on unless somebody need one to install right away due the idea that the innards don't do well when left sitting unsealed for long.

If you are in the upstate (Greenville-ish area) South Carolina area come get this stuff. I hate to throw it in the trash, if somebody could use it.

BUMP
See above.
I want to get rid of this stuff (add, plus most any interior items to the list), but don't want to just throw it in the trash, if some can use it.
Price for any of it is: FREE, unless that is, ...you would like to add to the projects malted beverage supplies and/or funds.
Just come get this stuff, around the end of May it will be disposed of.... I don't want to do that....

Agree. Post it up in the forum marketplace with or without a price or $1, doesn't matter. Also post it up on your local craigslist or one of the FB fb groups if you're on there.

What wheels are on your car currently? I like that style!

These guys make wheels for widebody rx7s, I've seen a couple of builds running them.

I remember seeing pictures of that car a long time ago. It made me want the Kent kit. Did it have the SE bolt pattern or did you have custom wheels made (or ran adapters)?

Where did you get your current body kit from, RESB?

Getting ready to dive it the suspension on this thing. When I did my first RX7, late 80s... Racing Beat were the & guys to use. My car had pretty much everything the had to offer for the 7s. Been out of the RX7 game for quit some time. So, anybody able/willing (I've tried search a LOT of treads, not much current FB stuff) to point in the direction for suspension part... coil overs, adjustable caste/camber plates, adjustable spring perches, etc. TIA

Glad to hear you are still at it. Unfortunately, the selection isn't what it used to be. If you want something special anymore you have to do the legwork and build it yourself. Racing Beat and MazdaTrix are still the main go-to guys. Atkins has some parts, mostly stock bits and pieces. A company called Tuner Sports says it has high performance suspension parts for the first gens, but I know nothing about the company. Banzai Racing is still around and carries some parts for the FBs. Rotary Aviation still has engine stuff for rotaries. MTheory, on here, builds a rack and pinion steering conversion kit whenever he gets time from work. Good-win Racing used to have stuff, but their website is looking pretty bare for 1st gen parts. These are the main ones I know of. We'll see what others can suggest. Hope it helps.
