Explain the titanium timing gears and chain. :icon_tup:

I've never heard/seen a rotary with a timing chain? Will this mod be done before or after the twin 88mm turbos?

WANKfactor 12-28-13 04:13 PM

Yeah you need a serious timing chain when you are running cams big enough to keep up with four 88mm turbos, duh.

MishlerDennis 12-28-13 06:34 PM

Oil pump sprockets and Drive Chain is what was meant by that specific statement. Guess I learned something new

Slow Rotor 12-28-13 09:41 PM

Its quite clear that

a) you don't have the knowledge (twin 88mm turbos, timing chains lol)

b) the funds (love that workshop)

c) the skills (look at that bondo glow, even after 450hrs of labor)

This was all evident in the first post. Every other reply was just pulling the piss.

just curious here about your goal of your dream car?

1100-1600 hp on a gslse engine or older inferior engine? guys running in the 7's at a quarter mile don't run old six port engines no matter what new parts they put in... as far as turbos, I have never seen more than three of them and that was a three rotor engine...

you are not planning to run that weak tranny on a high hp engine?

radiator in the back, yes it can be done......but why?

$45,000 in five years give or take $10,000? Please invest in better tools and a place to put your investment in a dry and safe environment.......

Not to be critical, but you talk some stuff that the most prestigious rotary gods have taken years to develop and get to their high point and you will be turn key in five years??????

Just the perception of how the car is now looking all ghetto looking next to the house and all the money and knowledge you talk makes us rotorheads thinking differently here...

This is constructive dialogue so please don't take offense....It is just that we have heard stories like this over and over through time and you look like just another dreamer.....

If you achieve your goals, I will support you 100%, otherwise, I will just watch and see if I can learn something here.....

Rotaryhaven thanks for your post man, I am learning as I go with this project, its not that I'm a know it all its simply that i have very serious Anger Issues and this project is my outlet for them. Yes I have the means to get it all done and Im experimenting until I get things right, Thats how I LEARN... For you others that are up on here being punks, Im off this site until the car is rolling...

you know.. if you actually did the stuff you say you did or could do, youd probably earn a lot of respect. there are so many holes in the logic of this build, its not even worth following but it is worth earning noty

keep up the good work!

rotornoob 12-29-13 12:40 AM

Well i agree with the others. IF you manage to pull this off you will have my respect, but after sinking that much money and time in to this project i would expect you to be much further along, as well as having much cleaner body work, not to mention a proper shop to build this thing in. And if you think people are slamming you on this thread, dont go into the lounge...

That having been said, i wish you the best of luck, but i will not be following this build. Seems too cluttered to me with way too much going on at once.

Why not save 5 years and get this? Seems in budget.

Yeah but he's doing his out of 3.5" so it will be much better than yours

I was going to stay off the site till its done but apparently some things need clarified... 1. I have spent to date about $75 total on the build, one can of bondo, replacement bolts, and some paint and sandpaper.. The car and engine were gifts from my little brother. The steel tubing was a gift from my father. 2. The steel tubing is actually 1 1/2inch sorry for the mistype. 3. Wangracing I would like to say sorry for using your picture as a reference, if you would like me to take it down then i am more then happy to do so for you. 4. The "almost 450hours of labor" that has been put into the car is counting stripping it down to a bare shell, Removing the sound deadening material from the inside of the vehicle, Sanding the car down by hand, Cutting and notching the steel tubing by hand with a hacksaw, using wire brushes and scrapers to clean all of the grease and crap off the entire undercarriage as well as the engine bay and wheel wells, It took that long because i don't believe in using anything but my hands to do my work. 5. If anyone really wants to know anything then simply ask me and don't assume ITS REALLY AS SIMPLE AS THAT. We are supposed to be enthusiast on here.. Anyways there is my polite response to all the assumptions, accusations and downright horse shit that is on this page.. Putting that all aside y'all have a great day now and good luck with your projects I wish you all the best.
