"The White Mamba" build

I introduced myself earlier on this forum coming from a turbo NSX and picking up a cheap montego blue FD.

thread here: https://www.rx7club.com/introduce-yourself-254/nsx-fd-930826/

A week or so ago i was cruising through CMZC (Colorado Mazda Club) and noticed someone selling a 95 chaste white with 44k miles. I immediately msged him and knew i had to get this pristine rx7. I'd rather try getting the loan then not trying at all. Went to the credit union and all went gravy. I've never made a build thread nor anything like this and i always thought it was neat that people could keep updating others on the progress of their cars, so i decided with this vehicle that i wanted to do that.

I want to really take the process slow and have it more like a diary. My goals are to have a nice subtle "stock" look. I really do enjoy the car stock but i feel like the 90s japanese super cars (although timeless designs) need an upgrade on some parts to make them look amazing. I know everyone keeps saying just keep it stock don't change a thing but i want to have nice BPU mods that'll make the car a bit more lively/safer/sexier. Also i'd like to shoutout to a couple people for answering many numerous questions i had about parts/reliability/everything. Speedjunkie, Turbo8, Goodfella, allrotor, and djseven! very good guys

so here it goes.

day 1: in all its stock glory!

changed out the turn signals for a clear/darker

swapped out my stock suspension for tein ha coilovers (forgot to take a pic will take it later when colorado stops being gay with rain) also added the 99 spec lip on there it doesn't fit flush but it still looks good and i said eh whatever it's free

[Not installed Yet]
Greddy Ti w/ downpipe & midpipe

Polished intake piping for stock box

cheap bastard intake mod to keep the stock box as well as the look

[MODS coming in]
Blitz SMIC
Neo tranny/Diff Fluid
Neo Keep Cool
Idemitsu premix fuel lube
AST Delete
Apex'i PowerFC
K&N Drop in Filter

[Future To-DO List]
AEM water/meth kit
Coolant hoses
Silicone Vacuum Hoses
Koyo N-Flow with silicone hoses
Greddy Elbow
HID lights
R1 strut bar
R1 dual oil coolers
more to come..

Hopefully i can log everything and take pictures...! wish me luck and thanks for reading

dan

Nice man. I see you had an '05 STi also. I had a silver-on-black '05 STi for about 6 months in between 7s, but it made me miss the Rx-7 so bad I had to switch back.

Nice car. Stock to competitive is a long road - the list of needed upgrades on this car seems to go on forever...I would definitely add bushings to the list because the car is still 16 years old

Let me know how those polished pipes match up to the stock box. I went with a stock box system, and always wanted to switch to hard pipes.

Just curious, how much does a low mileage 95 Chaste White FD go for?

Blitz SMIC
got the blitz smic in. the condition was kinda rough and some bent fins but i took some tweezers and made them a straight. Also i decided i wanted to have my smic look sorta like stock and discreet so i decided to high-temp spray it with ceramic semi gloss black.

how it came:

cleaned it up with steel wool and sprayed it:

Cheap Bastard Intake Mod W/ K&N Filter
after researching and wanting to stay with the stock look on the engine bay i decided the cheap bastard intake was the best route.

pulls air directly from the bottom and uses the radiator side ducts as well. really smart/neat concept

modifying the stock airbox to pull directly from the ducts

of course making it nice on the edges

Some noise is expelled through the pipe so technically yes. There would be less interior noise but as for less tail pipe noise no.

This is all on a minute level.

Very nice job on the intercooler.
