Prepping Bay for paint

Done a bit of work this morning in preparation to spray the engine bay.
Took off the radiator, intercooler and oil coolers to give them a good clean and get them out the way dont want any overspray on my shiney bits Bumper and headlights off Attachment 632236 Oil coolers, intercooler and radiator removed Attachment 632237 Koyo Radiator, Greddy intercooler and dual oil coolers pic before cleaning Attachment 632238 Gonna strip one of the wheels tomorrow to see if I can get the dish anodized as Im changing the colour of the wheels Bolts will get sent in to get plated in gold Next week must go buy paint for faces of the wheels, paint for engine bay, and paint for some body parts im making gloss black The part im dreading most is scrubbing the bay give it a good clean then all the masking off must commence for the stuff I dont want paint on like the brake booster, brake lines, power steering goodies etc |

So update time again
Engine bay got taped up in preperation for some paint Attachment 630564 All sprayed Attachment 630565 Masking tape and newspaper taken off Attachment 630566 Yellow came out nicely.. The colour match is good and shines so nicely :icon_tup: Next were the wheels. As you can see I got one of the wheels anodized to see how it would come out. If you look closely you can see where the anodising didnt stick to the welding where the wheel got repaired. Only way of fixing this was to get a paint colour matched to the anodized colour. Got the paint matched and collected the paint yesterday. I will just be painting the outer edge of the lips with the paint and a gloss clear over it! Here you can see where the anodising didnt stick to the wheel Attachment 630567 I was going to go with this colour on my wheels Attachment 630568 However Neeresh said it wouldnt work so leka with the anodizing so I am going with this colour now Attachment 630569 Will start spraying the wheels and send them all in for anodizing next week hope they come out lekker :icon_tup: Picked up a fong kong original Nardi wheel till I can get an Original one. Attachment 630570 Also ordered a Speedhunters Takata tow strap for my car as well as some Speedhunters stickers and an Air freshener Attachment 630571 Went to check up on the engine this week. It is ready for assembly and should collect it next week Some pics Ported leka as well as a half bridge port was done. Attachment 630572 Attachment 630573 Also found a Microtech Engine Management system for a steal so will be collecting that this weekend. Thats all for now guys |

Believe me i cant wait either!! Got engine front cover alternator and few other things back from sandblasting and all other nuts and bolts that got plated so assembly will commence this week:icon_tup: Gonna pick up a Microtech ECU today as well |

Gotta undo motor mounts tomorrow and jack the motor up. Sump isn't sealed well.. it's pissing oil!! Then going to dyno next week get a proper tune done.

So the oil leak has been sorted atleast.
Went to get the car tuned however I was receiving RPM interference and "Home" and "Reference" errors on the Microtech handset. The timing was jumping all over the place. The guy managed to tune the car a bit so I can drive it. So then my mission was to sort out the interference issues and the errors. Turns out wires were wrong way around on one of the crank angle sensor plugs:( Changed the wires around and no more errors or red light on the ECU happy days!! So gonna take the car back for a tune sometime soon so I can go race the car and enjoy it a bit. Update time
Got the car tuned eventually after fixing the errors with the crank pick ups. The clown who wired it in mixed up the polarities on the one plug:scratch: Anyway car is running nicely now made some alright power for the current setup that is in the car. Atleast I can enjoy the car now that it is tuned properly:icon_tup: Car made 348hp at 13psi. Went to a car show the other day. Suspension felt terrible
Got home found this :bang: Poly bush popped out the rear control arm Attachment 621448 Got it fixed last week then my dad took it to adyno day on Saturday. Went to ODI yesterday it s a local abondoned irfield where we can do 400m and 1kilometre top end runs
Was a leka day out with the mates. Even better to put foot flat without worrying on speed fines haha Car went strong the whole day there and back long ass drive no issues besides the headache when I got home Car was boosting 0.9 bar yesterday and was running lovely. Got 223kmph on the 1km and 222kmph on the 2nd run Ran a 13.27 at 169kmph on the 400m Most fun ive had in a long time must definitely do it again. Not too much to update here Car has been running 14lb boost and is going nicely for a tiny t3 turbo on the car. Not sure if you're aware, but where your trailing arm connects to the lower control arm there should be a pillow-ball bushing and not a poly bushing. That's why its popping out like that. The pillow-ball bushing is held in by retention clips which keep it in place. Not sure if you put a poly bush there intentionally or by accident. |
