Very tired FD resurrection

Hello all, my name is Doug and I acquired my first FD about a month ago. I don't know any history on the car other than it has been sitting a very long time. Tires date stamp around 2001 (not pictured), found a flip phone and a calendar for 1995 (i think) inside the car.

I started off by seeing if the motor would turn over, it would/did but would not start (shocker). I couldn't hear the fuel pump priming so I rigged up an auxiliary 1-gal fuel jug with an inline walbro. Now with a good fuel supply.......nothing....

It was at this point I gave up as I knew I wanted to build a new motor anyways. After pressure washing and vacuuming about 10lbs of rat crap out of the engine bay I pulled the stock motor and trans. I then sanded the engine bay and painted it using a product called "STEEL-IT". Its a polyurethane embedded with 316L stainless flake. Its very popular in the off-road world due to its durability. I also think it looks great and levels out beautifully.

Next I slapped together a streetported 13b-rew in my garage. This brings us to the cars current condition. I am mostly collecting parts at the moment.

Basic rundown on the motor is as follows, also included is miscellaneous parts I have collected:
streetport
Xcessive LIM
Xcessive oil filler neck
Xcessive oil pan
Turblown manifold
Dual turbosmart gen v wastegates
Garrett GT3582r
CJM secondary rail with ID2000's
Ir Performance motor mounts (not installed yet)
Koyo rad

Not motor related:

Mazdaspeed powerplant frame
Stoptech big brake kit

Nice work so far. Looks like you saved one. She gon' be loud and fast with that setup. You gonna reroute the dumps or leave them open?

This is what my last few days have consisted of, repairing rat eaten wiring and re-looming. I also had a very broken combo switch, both the wiper switch and the blinker switch were hanging off the column when i bought the car. The plastic had broken, I searched for the part number that is listed on the bare plastic "frame" and found one on eBay listed in Lithuania out of a Hyundai or something. I disassembled both switches completely and combined them, I now have a working combo switch for around $25.

Last picture is why the factory engine failed for those interested.

Thanks guys! believe it or not that picture is after the first round of pressure washing. I cannot describe the amount of rodent damage. The rats had started eating the factory cooling fans.

I am going to route the wastegates into the exhaust. I want the car semi-quiet. I have other cars with open wastegates and I want the FD more discrete haha.

Man that fuel pump! wow that's insane! The engine bat looks good too, I want to respray my bay one of these years.

I have never seen a fuel pump as bad as this one. The tank is just as bad, not sure how to tackle it other than replacing. New are pretty pricey haha.

I haven’t started tackling the fuel system yet but I am not looking forward to it!
